24.01.2022 The Sonics had a great camp at Tin Can Bay recently. Thank you Cooloola Dragon Boat Club Inc for making the Sonics welcome at your training grounds and the use of your boats. Thank you JPX2 for the support of the Sonics - still the best looking paddles in the business. Also thanks to AusChamp for the continued support of the Sonics.

08.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce that our QLD Sonics coach has been appointed QLD flag bearer for AUSChamps next year. The time he dedicates to developing juniors is first class and we are so fortunate to have him. We’re proud of ya coach, congratulations *********************************************************************... Dear Clubs, DBQ is please to announce the appointment of Martin Pavelka (Maroochy Sea Serpents) as the Queensland Flag Bearer at AusChamps which are being held at Penrith in 2020. The appointment recognises the significant contributions Martin has made to the sport of dragon boating over many years. These contributions include: Club level coaching The development of Junior members in Qld through his involvement as coach of the Qld Sonics Coaching at State Squad level, particularly his commitment to the enhancement of premier aged paddlers in Qld Coaching at National level through his involvement with the Australian Auroras, particularly the Senior A program Personal mentoring of dragon boat members regardless of their club affiliations Martin is a highly respected, dedicated and professional individual in terms of the development of dragon boating and members within the sport. He is fully deserved of this recognition, and the DBQ Board highly values his contributions to dragon boating in Qld over the years. We congratulate Martin on this appointment in the knowledge that he will represent Queensland proudly at AusChamps 2020 in this role. Mark Slater President

Thanks to Coomera Dragons Dragonboat Club , we’re training at their home base - Coomera Lake, Watersports Lane, Oxenford tomorrow Sunday 27th October from 11am-1pm. This is an open invitation to all juniors 9yrs and over to come and try the wonderful sport of Dragon Boating ... A few essentials for the day: * gym gear that can get wet (it’s a sport after all) * * block * bottle * towel * water shoes or enclosed shoes * spare clothes (just in case) See you there

02.01.2022 Our next Sonics training session is on Saturday 21st November from 11am to 1pm at Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, 542 Royal Esplanade, Manly. All juniors and U24s are welcome however if you are new to Sonics please message us to let us know you are coming so we can ensure we have enough boats and sweeps available.
