21.01.2022 ATTN EARLY LEARNING SERVICE PROVIDERS Payments of Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) will not be made from 2 July 2018, when the new Child Car...e Subsidy (CCS) commences. As part of the implementation, the Department had commenced end dating CCB entitlements to a cancelled fee-reduction status effective 1 July 2018. However, some software has interpreted this as zero eligibility immediately, rather than from 2 July. Please note that this has impacted only those services which estimate entitlement in advance, and only for the enrolments updated to date. The Department has stopped processing these changes and are talking to the impacted software providers about an approach to recover. If you have any questions, please call the CCMS Helpdesk on 1300 667 276 or email [email protected].

18.01.2022 Christmas Presence Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 From Adam and up until the time of Christ came, God and man were separated by an un-crossable gap. God spoke through prophets and directed through the law, but the people didnt know what the presence of God was like. The only way to get to heaven was by strict adherence to the law - they had to be really goo...d people. But God wasnt satisfied with that arrangement, so he did something about it. Someone had to bridge the gap that sin had caused and the only one capable of that was His very own son. Gods great desire was to be with us. He moved heaven and earth to reunite us with Himself. What was designed in the Garden of Eden and ruined by sin, could only be restored by His Son. He chose to start with an innocent, helpless child to enact his plan of redemption. One of the lies that Satan tells us is that God doesnt want to be near us because we have done so many things wrong. That couldnt be any further from the truth! God sacrificed everything so that He could be near us. Jesus humbled himself and became a man so that he could endure everything necessary to make things right with God. All that needs to complete the reunion between us and God is our repentance of sin, our belief that Jesus is the Son of God and our receiving of His salvation. Then we will know something those in the Old Testament never did - the presence of God. Christmas is one of the most joyous Christian holidays; a time to remember the birth of Christ our Saviour. Christmas is a time to share our blessings with one another and to be surrounded by the people we love. It is a time for giving and a time for forgiving. Most importantly, it is a reminder of how much God loves us. Gods gift is still the greatest ever given and the greatest our hearts will ever receive. True love was born in a stable. God isnt bothered by our focus on presents as long as we know His real presence.
17.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE | As per the recommendations from the Prime Minister of Australia this afternoon, Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services will be open tomorrow. QLECS has been working with the LCAQD and LEQ, as well as the Department (ECEC). We will continue to monitor the situation closely and follow all recommendations from Queensland Health and the ECEC. There is a great deal of heightened emotions in the community. The best thing we can do for our children, staff, families and ourselves, is to ensure programs run as normally as possible and that we remain vigilant with hygiene practices.

11.01.2022 A thoughtful message from Bishop Paul Smith for this Ash Wednesday. "Dust we are and to dust we shall return. Today we look into our empty hands and admit that... we bring nothing to work of salvation. It's all from our Lord Jesus Christ and his offering of his own life." . . .
