20.01.2022 Belmont Shooting Complex - Closure Many sports throughout Queensland welcomed the release of the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions, last Friday. Sporting organisations and clubs have struggled with the Interpretation of outdoor, non-contact activity as opposed to non-contact indoor and outdoor community sport (in Stage 2).... Representatives from Sport & Recreation (Department of Housing and Public Works) have clarified with Queensland Health, and communicated that the intent was not to include Sport in Stage 1. There is also a clear expectation that Queensland sporting clubs will do the right thing and act in the best interests of the broader community when dealing with the safe return to life beyond Covid 19. Stage 1 will see a range of permitted activities take place that do not include Sport. Despite the common view that several activities will be permitted in public that may be perceived to have greater risk than those activities that would normally partake in here at Belmont Shooting Complex, by deferring Sport until Stage 2 (12th June), the success of Stage 1 permitted activities can be considered. It is also appropriate, based on the clarification, that the Government Directive of Social sporting-based activities limited to 2 people, with social distancing observed comes into question. State sporting organisations are receiving regular updates from QSport (Sports Federation of Queensland Inc.) as the industry peak body representing sport in the State. QRA, through Belmont Site Users Committee, will consider bringing together a group to discuss a sitewide plan to maximise the permitted activity when Stage 2 commences. Some Ranges are used for specific training for Police, Border Force, Federal Police and others. These activities are deemed to be categorized as essential services and may continue subject to those groups ascertaining the essential status. Peter Doig Queensland Rifle Association Inc. 13th May 2020 IMPORTANT NEWS ALL QMRC EVENTS ARE CANCELLED Due to current circumstances involving COVID-19, All QMRC EVENTS are cancelled until further notice. Please check our website for updates before coming to the range. The QMRC Committee are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Notice as of 2:30pm Wednesday 13th of May 2020
