16.01.2022 THE CHARLES & MOTEE ROGERS MEMORIAL PIANO COMPETITION 22 AUGUST 2020 Congratulations to all competitors who performed today in the online 'Charles & Motee Rogers Memorial Piano Competition'. Established by our branch in 1982, this competition has run annually for 38 years! Thanks go to committee members who worked hard to make this year's competition happen in an online format. We had 44 entries across the four sections, each competitor performing two contrasting works. We we...re delighted to have Dr Phillip Gearing as adjudicator and his helpful and encouraging comments were most appreciated. RESULTS Section A: Grade level 1 - 2 Winner: Brendon Lai (Teacher: Jane van Gend) Runner Up: Charlie Farrell (Teacher: Paula Melville-Clark) Highly Commended: Tharushi Ratnayake, Hugh Burness, Louis Keen, James Dixon, Tiffany Tay, Georgia Burke Section B: Grade level 3 - 4 Winner: Alexandra Edwards (Teacher: Louise Buttsworth) Runner Up: Ethan Burness (Teacher: Louise Buttsworth) Highly Commended: Sarah Dixon, Oliver Whitney Section C: Grade level 5 - 6 Winner: Camillo Lanzafame (Teacher: Paula Melville-Clark) Runner Up: Thomas Dixon (Teacher: Jane van Gend) Highly Commended: Alex Fischer, Cherish Mueller Section D: Grade level 7 - 8 Winner: Isabelle Tay (Teacher: Paula Melville-Clark) Runner Up: Laura Cheetham (Teacher: Jane van Gend)
