Fortunately, there were cameras around and they used some of it in The Hobbit! But this same Special Effects studio won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2005... with which film is the question! See more

This country is home to all sorts of legends, particularly Vampire legends, as its the home of Dracula after all! And its one of only 4 countries to have taken part in the first three FIFA World Cups!

23.01.2022 Its time for some happy news! We have been back getting quizzical for a few months now and its about time for some congratulations to go out. . A big shout out to T&K over at Belmont Golf Club. Despite it going down to the wire, they came through in the end taking $350 cold hard cash from QuizMaster Doug. You can tell they were pleased! Another special mention to the secretive but successful team known only as "Youre a Quizzard Harry". We dont know who they are or where t...hey might pop up, but we do know they took a whopping $500 from our friends at the lake Club Catalina - Rathmines Bowlo. Watch out! Now that State of Origin is over those venues that had changes to the way they run will be returning to normal. Plus we have an extra treat for you this week. Firstly lets talk our regular venues. The Blackbutt Hotel and Albion Hotel, Newcastle return to their Wednesday slot this week, kicking off at 7:30 alongside The Grand Hotel Newcastle which is making it's triumpha...nt return. Our friends at the FogHorn Brewery and Mayfield West Bowling Club will rejoin Club Lemon Tree, Hamilton North Bowling Club, Belmont Golf and Bowls for their regular 7pm quiz And to lead us all off is Club Catalina - Rathmines Bowlo from 6:30 As a special treat The Beach Hotel will be holding a special Harry Potter themed quiz tonight from 7pm before returning to the regular trivia format. She is a brilliant comedian who has starred on Saturday Night Live and Mean Girls, hosted the Oscars three times, and even appeared as Ruth in the hit classic Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
