This includes the health and safety of our local communities, which is you, our patients, as well as our team members. | We want to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, are regularly updating our internal policy and processes according to any daily mandates and recommendations from the government and the Department of Health. | F...ollowing government guidelines, we are asking all people who have travelled in the last 14 days not to present to the clinic. We are helping to reschedule appointments, and we look forward to welcoming these patients back following the appropriate period of quarantine. | We are asking patients to let us know if they are showing signs or symptoms of the Coronavirus. Should this be the case we are rescheduling appointments and requesting clearance by their GP or evidence of a returned a negative test. | We have made hand sanitisers and hand-washing facilities available to all our team members and patients within the clinic. We are following best guidelines from the Department of Health for cleaning our clinic facilities, waiting areas and equipment. | Where possible clinics are being re-arranged to ensure there is less close contact between patients in common areas and cleaning of all equipment has become a priority. 19.01.2022 Matwork Monday! HEEL BEATS Purpose: Primarily targets gluteus maximus strength as well as hamstrings, adductors and lower back... Set-up: lying on mat with hands under forehead, gently pull abdominals in and lengthen through lower back Exercise: INHALE to prepare, EXHALE to engage abdominals gently lifting away from the mat and lengthening through the spine. Turn toes out slightly keeping heels together. Lift both legs feeling the back of your legs and buttocks engage. If you are currently managing any injuries or niggles, be sure to check with a health care professional before beginning any of these exercises. HUNDREDS Purpose: abdominal endurance and neck strength... Set-up: lying on mat, legs in table top, gently engage lower abdominals, lengthen through back of neck Exercise: INHALE to prepare, EXHALE to gently tuck chin and curl up by lifting the head and shoulders off the mat and reach long through the arms and fingers. Pulse the hands up and down whilst maintaining the chest lift position. INHALE for 5 beats, EXHALE for 5 beats, repeat until you reach 100 beats, then lower to the floor Focus points: - ensure lower back doesnt arch or lift off floor, keep lower abdominals engaged - To make easier: start with both feet on the floor - To make harder: have both legs extended out in front (the lower, the more challenging!) Set-up: Long sit position, shoulders over hands, hands pointing towards feet Exercise: INHALE to prepare, EXHALE to lift the hips, reaching the legs long, keeping the shoulders over the hands. INHALE to lift one leg, EXHALE to return. Repeat on other side Focus points: - maintain head in comfortable alignment/not dropping back - maintain core support so ribs dont drop down or hips lower - avoid rotating pelvis with leg lifts - To make easier: Use foam roller to support under knees. Or bend knees. Do not add leg lift if you feel unstable. - To make harder: Increase reps or increase leg lift reps on one side before swapping sides. Reps: start with 1 leg lift each side, progress to 6 alternate leg lifts before lowering or do 3 lifts on each side.
