24.01.2022 And that's a wrap, 2019. From everyone at the Queensland Police Pipes & Drums, Happy New Year!

21.01.2022 What’s a Queensland Police Service Graduation Parade without the Pipes & Drums. This is one of the most important jobs we do, and is one we take very seriously. Becoming a sworn member of the Queensland Police Service is a moment that every police officer will remember for the rest of their lives, and we are very honoured to play such an important role on this occasion. Pipes & Drums take part in Graduation Parades in both Brisbane at our Oxley Academy, and in Townsville at our North Queensland Academy. These pics are from our last Graduation Parade in Brisbane in November 2019.

20.01.2022 As we come to the last day of performances for 2019, we would like to take this moment to wish all of our Facebook followers a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Please take care this holiday season, and we look forward to being back bigger and better in 2020. Cheers to All Queensland Police Pipes & Drums.

19.01.2022 Only one more week of training left for the Queensland Police Services next 80 recruits. The First Police Graduation for 2020 at our Brisbane Academy is to take place next Thursday at the Oxley campus. There was certainly plenty of water consumed this morning, as for 4 hours we "played the beat" in the extreme heat, helping preparing them to "hit the beat". Well done to everyone. See you next Wednesday for your last rehearsal.

16.01.2022 Well it's been a whirlwind start to the new year. The first Police Graduation for 2020 took place in Townsville last week. Congratulations to Queensland's 40 newest constables that were sworn-in during the ceremony. It was a pleasure being a part of your special day. Good luck for the future, stay safe and welcome to the family.

11.01.2022 Bagpipes, Drums and Surfing....... not a combination of activities you might put together right......??? Well the Pipes & Drums took to the water like ducks (calm on the surface but paddling like mad under it) for our end of 2019 Christmas Party/Break up. After a long year of performing and spreading the good word of crime prevention around our wonderful state, it was time to let our hair down. Our thanks go out to S/Sgt Gilmore (Blue Surf) and Surfing Services Australia for putting on a wonderful day. As you can see from these pictures we had a wonderful time

09.01.2022 The Queensland Police Exemplary Conduct Medal is awarded for demonstrated exemplary conduct in a specific role or duty which enhances the professional image of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) far exceeding what might be reasonably expected from an efficient member of the Service. We are extremely proud and excited to announce that one of our own at the Pipes & Drums has been awarded this prestigious award. Congratulations go to our Drum Sergeant Yvonne Coustley, who rec...eived this award along with the Community Clasp. Yvonne’s professionalism and hardworking ethics are no surprise to those who know her, and after almost 20 years’ service to the QPS, the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums and the Queensland Police Juvenile Pipes and Drums, we cannot think of anyone more deserving of this accolade. Congratulations again Yvonne, we are all very proud of you here at the QPP&D. See more

09.01.2022 Queensland Police Pipes & Drums visited Kippa-Ring State School last week - check out their video below!

09.01.2022 Congratulations to the 79 newest Qld Police Constables that were inducted into the Queensland Police Service on January 30th 2020. This parade took place at our Brisbane Academy in Oxley. To all the graduates from everyone here at the Pipes & Drums, stay safe and welcome to the QPS family.

08.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and it was sounding like Christmas in the Queen Street Mall, as the Queensland Police Service, Commissioners Christmas Concerts took place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of December. Crowds flocked to listen to the harmonies of ‘Melody in Blue’, rocked out to the sounds of ‘Band of Blue’, and were captivated by the Pipes & Drums, some overheard mentioning they had never heard Christmas carols played on the pipes before. All three days were a huge hit with crowds and the Community Supporting Police (CSP) selling plenty of merchandise. Also, on hand were members of the Queensland Police Dog Squad with their puppies, Horses from the Mounted Unit, children were able to sit on and get photos with the motorcycles from Road Policing Command, as well as plenty of furry mascots ready for a cuddle.

08.01.2022 Not only do Pipes & Drums play for Queensland Police Service Graduation Parades, but we also perform at Queensland Corrective Services Graduation Parades. We have performed at approximately 8 Graduations this year, and we take great pride and pleasure in helping make these parades a special occasion, and one that all graduating recruits will remember for the rest of their lives. (we are waiting for photos from Corrective Services and will upload them once received)

07.01.2022 During the course of the year, the Pipes & Drums attend various official events at Government House. These events can range from overseas Ambassadorial and Heads of State visits, Queensland and Australian Honours and Award Recipients and other official ceremonies. The band takes great pride in being able to perform at these events, and add a little musical flavour for all in attendance.

06.01.2022 In November we fare-welled Brady as he moves onto a new career as a Commercial Pilot. Brady started his drumming career with the Queensland Police Juvenile Pipes & Drums, and over the years we have seen him develop into not only an extremely talented drummer, who has performed at the highest levels of pipe band drumming, but also develop into an extremely mature, hardworking and very funny young man. Brady has been a part of the QPP&D for almost 2 years now, and although it’s sad to see him move on, we are extremely proud and happy to see his dreams coming true. CONGRATULATIONS Brady and best of luck with the new role.

05.01.2022 On November 22nd 2019, the Pipes & Drums lead the Street March for White Ribbon Day (Violence against Women) at Redcliffe. This event was extremely well supported, with hundreds of people taking part in the march from Anzac Park, along Redcliffe Parade and finishing at Mon Komo Hotel.

04.01.2022 More pictures from the 2019 Queensland Police Service Commissioners Christmas Concert.......

02.01.2022 One of the most rewarding things we do in our job is bringing smiles to people’s faces, and two of our members had the opportunity to be part of this milestone, when they attended the Queensland Children’s Hospital’s 5th Birthday on the 27th November 2019. QPP&D members Charlie MacKenzie and Craig Poole had a fantastic morning playing for and meeting the guests. There was also a visit from members of the Queensland Police Dog Squad, and the kids went wild when PD Pace and PD Duce arrived.
