24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, With the 2020 year almost over it is now time to turn our attention to next years Qld Rally Championship. Behind the scenes the Qld Rally advisory... Panel (QRAP) has been hard at work analyzing, reviewing, consulting and daring to dream. We reckon we have come up with some exciting and interesting ideas for the 2021 QRC and we have now had them approved by Motorsport Australia and the Queensland State Council for inclusion into the 2021 Qld Rally Handbook. Your comments and feedback in the recent Competitor Survey we conducted influenced our thinking heavily, so we think we have a structure and rules for 2021 that you are going to like. The new handbook will be published on the Motorsport Australia Website once MA Admin has processed it and we will then link that to our Website. That should happen before the end of this year hopefully. We will shoot a post up to say when it is all live. In summary the main changes are as follows: 1/. Rallysafe will be used at all 4 Rounds of the QRC 2/. Competitor Cost for Rallysafe will be limited to $135 per event, plus the installation kit if your vehicle doesn't have it already 3/. Additional Rallysafe Costs that Event Organisers have had to bear previously will be subsidised by the Qld Rally Safety Fund which is financed by Championship Sponsorship. 4/. All four Rounds of the 2021 QRC will have 2 Heats. Points will be allocated equally to both heats and a Competitor can rejoin Heat 2 if they fall out of Heat 1 (with CofC approval) 5/. 5 Bonus Points will be allocated to all Competitors that successfully complete Both Heats of a Round to encourage the endurance element of a Rally 6/. Two Events of the Championship can be optionally Pace Noted 7/. Two Events of the Championship will have Night Stages 8/. Two of the Rounds will be brand new Rallies at Gympie and Mundubbera 9/. The Novice Series will be the best 3 out of 4 rounds. Points will be awarded for The first heat in the nominated QRC Rounds. A Novice Competitor may elect to do the second heat at these rounds, but the second heat will not have Novice Series Points awarded. 10/. Any Key Officials who are also Competitors in the Championship will be allowed to earn Championship Points at the Round where they are acting as a Key Official. These points will be determined as an average of the points they earn in the Rounds where they Compete We think these changes will add some interest to the Championship. The intention behind them is to generate bigger fields and have more teams do more events through the whole season, as the pointscore system will keep them in the hunt if they do strike a problem during a heat. There will be a few other innovations at the Mundubbera Rally in October that we will reveal later. Here's hoping that Covid takes a rest next year and let's us get out there and play. Hopefully we can also revive the Social side of our fantastic sport with Camping, Spectator Points, Presentations and After Parties all to make a return if the Government allows it. In the meantime, on behalf of the whole QRAP Team we wish you and your families a fantastic Christmas. Fingers Crossed a few Evo's or Subi's may end up under your Christmas Trees with Bows on them. Regards Gerard McConkey QRAP Chair

16.01.2022 The Audi Quattro S1 was leading the Midstate Freight Caves Classic Rally by just 1.4 seconds with one short stage to go. Despite committing to every corner, Mal... Keough and Andrew Bennett would be 4.8 seconds slower over the final stage than eventual winner, Sullens and Newell in the Citroen DS3. But 2nd outright was still an amazing result. We are going to feature the top 3 places with extended videos from every stage... enjoy over 4 minutes of Audi Quattro magic! 05.01.2022 A weekend that should have been filled with rally cars. What a shame that both the Qld and NSW State Round have been cancelled for this weekend. My thoughts go to the organiser of these event, that work so hard for months and months and than have to cancel their events.
