22.01.2022 Good Morning!! I had a visit to the ranch this week from my mate Dave Shelton, he asked me.... Q- with all the horses you work each day, when do you make saddles?? My reply was in the dark mate. Thankfully My workshop has lights and it happens early in the morning and late at night. It got me thinking that I had better show you our saddle creations for the month of May (so far). We will have another couple of saddle and Equine updates next week, have a great weekend Amigos! 18.01.2022 This is a pic from Sally H of me showing Look at me Duck( owned by Kerrie Darby) the winning run in the open cutting at ARCHA pot of gold. She marked a 74.5 I can’t thank everyone enough for their support throughout the weekend. & Thanks to the ARCHA for a fantastic show. I feel very fortunate to also mention we crossed a small milestone last weekend with my lifetime earnings from showing cowhorses moving over the $10,000 mark. It’s not something we ever considered would happen but the revival of cowhorse a few years ago has made it a reality & We are so very lucky to do something we love every day!! Cheers Q

18.01.2022 Gday everyone , We’ve had these cowhorse saddles (numbers 154 & 155) in the works for a while now and this recent rain has allowed me to get into the workshop a...nd get them finished. Reds saddle is a full rough out with stirrup slots through the seat for a punchy cowboy look, horseshoe brand hardware, saddlestrings and a mulehide hornwrap to dally up to when a rouge steer leaves the herd . Jo’s saddle is a little different it’s a smooth out with a rough out seat. Also it has two pairs of horseshoe brand in skirt riggings in a Mother Hubbard style skirt. This was her idea to help save on weight, and it worked really well!! This saddle also has saddlestrings and stainless steel hardware, and a mulehide horn wrap. Both saddles have a nice pineapple knot to hold the twist on the stirrup leathers just because I love knots & braiding May these saddles give my friends many years of great service! stay warm amigos! 16.01.2022 Some one ear bridle headstalls a couple headed to Western Australia and another two destined for one of the famous Denman Bridle Men Robert Parish. These a...re made from drum stuffed harness leather, which is very durable for working equipment. They all have Horseshoe brand buckles 3 of the 4 have some cool Barbed wire conchos to match the stamping. 13.01.2022 A Huge congratulations to Q, Kerrie and Look at me a Duck for taking out the ARCHA 2020 Shiney Outlaw Open Bridle Spectacular at White Park on the Weekend!! Scoring a 73.5 in the Herd work, 70 in the Reining and 71.5 Down the Fence for a total of a 215!! A pinnacle moment for horse, owner and rider! It was a great week away with 8 horses, other great runs, scores, photos to come. Q you amaze me every day, we are all super proud of you!!

I’m sure I’m not the only one wearing Rose Coloured glasses some fantastic runs, results and an overall top weekend. Surrounded by great horses and great people!! And I can not thank the QRS team enough for their dedication and hard work over the weekend!!

04.01.2022 Hey everyone, I hope you’re all staying safe during this madness!! QRS Ranch is still operating..... maybe not as usual though as all the horse shows we’ve been training for are either cancelled or postponed. We are still concentrating on our futurity and Derby horses but we will have vacancies for a limited number of breakers in the coming months, or training for those of you wanting to stay ahead of the curve and get those horses tuned for when the shows start again. These ...are some random pics from the ranch over the last few years including a couple of shots of a 2yr old Sorta Smooth a stallion by smooth as a cat out of Roosters Little Darlin who has since gone on to big things in the cutting pen for Clavar Cutting Horses. We have been very fortunate to have numerous futurity and Derby finalists, Open campdraft and Challenge winners and now cowhorses through our 2yr old program. We believe in giving a horse a purpose and job to do, we have a good cattle supply, mechanical cow, drag dummy and access to many miles of dirt road to produce relaxed well broke horses. 03.01.2022 A busy morning for team QRS Equine, A huge congratulations to Q taking outplace in the ARCHA Open cutting with a 74.5 riding Look at me Duck owned by Kerrie Darby, followed by equal74 riding our stallion WK Spoonfula Freckles. I was super impressed to watch both Futurity prospects our QRS Smooth Cook N Chex riding out with a 71.5 and Smooth Addiction owned by Sean Debattista and Nat ride out with a 71. Geoff & Vicki Rofe also had there mare Chisms Izzy shown this morning. A shout out to ALL the people and hands on deck this morning with the show prep!! Thank youLive Stream rocks!! 02.01.2022 This is a short clip of a 2yr old gelding sired by Shiners Voodoo Doctor owned by Serendipity Reiners. He’s gettin his outside on or as commonly referred to around here as the junction hill treatment. The junction hill is the steep hill behind Isabella, and it’s perfect for getting them youngsters broke!

02.01.2022 This morning I finished this little junior drafter it’s ready to head north to QLD ( if Anastasia let’s it across the border)!! It’s a rough out seat, knee p...ads and fenders for extra grip, on a Semi Quarterhorse tree, natural leather, lined with 6mm felt, nice little sunshine border stamp, and the increasingly popular Horseshoe brand buckles and conchos. We also mounted it with little Ralide pony stirrups to keep it nice and light. Thanks to everyone who has shared our work, and tagged me when some is needing a saddle I really appreciate it!!
