15.01.2022 Members from across Brisbane Region learned the intricacies of Search and Rescue (SAR) during the recent SAR course organised by the Region Training team and facilitated by Jim Whitehead, senior Search And Rescue Mission Coordinator (SARMC) within QPS. These members can now apply the knowledge gained and provide assistance with the management and coordination of future searches around the region. Well done to you all.

09.01.2022 LOCAL FIRE BAN EXTENDED BRISBANE REGION Due to heightened fire conditions, the current local fire ban will be extended for the following local government areas: Brisbane City Council Redland City Council Moreton Bay Regional Council... For residents in these areas, the ban will now remain in place until 2359 hrs Tuesday, 17 December. Under a local fire ban open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled.

07.01.2022 Last night members from Petrie group, Moreton Unit came for a visit to the Emergency Services Complex at Kedron. These opportunities provide members insight into where and how things occur at a regional and state level during disasters. They got to visit the State Disaster CoordinationCentre Watch Desk staff, the State Operations Centre and also had a visit to the Communications Centre and spoke with Firecom staff
