24.01.2022 Great photo taken by Ethan Brown in April 2019. Autumn colours are wonderful !

22.01.2022 What will be the next Quarry Park priority? The waterways need attention.

20.01.2022 All works have been completed as listed below on a previous post ! The TQSR Committee wishes to advise of actions happening in the near future, to improve community safety and enjoyment of the park: 1. A local company, expert in addressing noxious weeds in this region, has been engaged to undertake spraying of major blackberry and gorse infestations around the park, particularly along the waterway and edge of the lake, and on the island. 2. A Eucalypt tree on Lelant Street, ...within the park boundary, has been assessed as diseased and needs to be removed. We look forward to post Covid 19 working bees where we begin further planting and upkeep of the park.

16.01.2022 Such a gorgeous peaceful spot in this worrying time.

12.01.2022 The TQSR Committee wishes to advise of actions happening in the near future, to improve community safety and enjoyment of the park: 1. A local company, expert in addressing noxious weeds in this region, has been engaged to undertake spraying of major blackberry and gorse infestations around the park, particularly along the waterway and edge of the lake, and on the island. This will be done in accordance with Government requirements and guidelines. The spray is classified by t...he EPA as practically nontoxic (the least toxic category) to mammals, insects, freshwater fish and invertebrates. In a few months, we will reassess clearing the area of any remaining weeds. In accordance with the Management Plan developed last year, appropriate re-vegetation is planned, including more native plantings on the island. 2. A Eucalypt tree on Lelant Street, within the park boundary, has been assessed as diseased and needs to be removed. This will occur sometime in the week commencing Monday 27 April. A notice has been placed on the tree. Once the tree is removed, appropriate replacement plantings will be made, as part of the Park Management Plan.

08.01.2022 Watching the ducks diving the other day. An interesting site to see !

05.01.2022 Working bee at Quarry Park happened on Monday with members of our local area. Everyone kept their distances as per social distancing guidelines. Blackberry and weed eradication was the main purpose. Well done everyone.

03.01.2022 A couple of brave souls ventured out to the Island yesterday to check on its progress and observed the social distancing rules. The signs are great with plenty of growth happening. Time for more planting and mulching on the island.

03.01.2022 A check of the island has seen a lot of growth occurring. Weather has been kind I guess. Well done Fay for row row rowing the boat.

02.01.2022 Getting much needed daily exercise, Quarry Park was a calming place to stroll. Do you see the bird near the drain ?
