03.01.2022 When an opportunity arose to donate new shoes, the two Jennys from Leef Bega immediately thought of helping the Quaama and Cobargo communities that were affected by the Black Summer Bushfires. Jenny Whitaker who is branch manager at Leef (formerly Mobility Matters) in Carp Street Bega seized the opportunity to donate the shoes when the National Manager was visiting the store to rationalise stock. Leef’s motto is to Reverse how you Feel, Jenny Taylor who also thought it was a great idea said a new pair of shoes makes anyone feel good. On Sunday 23 May, the two Jennys presented the new shoes, slippers, and footwear to Veronica Abbott of the Quaama Renewal Projects and Committee members of the Cobargo Tourist and Business Association. The shoes will be distributed to members of both communities that lost belongings in the fires.
