25.01.2022 Here is a clip of one of the fire affected Split-Fire 2203's in operation hooked up to a Wood-King 3265 portable splitter. As you can see, it works perfectly, with a full cycle of around 6 seconds. The WK is on 3/4 throttle using an 11gpm pump, so on full throttle a 4 second cycle time would be achievable. The 2203 is ideal for a small Kioti or Kubota tractor, or even a 135 Fergie or similar.

24.01.2022 Going through a very quiet patch, sales wise, but up to Ringarooma in the North east of Tas tomorrow fo their annual show on Saturday (5/11). If you are in the area why not come along and see the 4490 in operation? Will also have some log picks and log roller jacks on board (ideal Christmas presents for the chap who has a bad back!) Then, next Saturday (12/11) the Huon show is on in the south of Tas. I would say without a doubt this is the best country show in Tas, with lots to see and do! Our stand is no.53, so come along and have a chat.

23.01.2022 Here is our hire 4490 in action! The log is starting to rot in the centre, but still gave the machine a workout. Some of the rounds were so large we had trouble lifting them on edge, but once rolled onto the log lifter up they went.

22.01.2022 Our next show is coming up on the 4th and 5th of October at Burnie. It's a new venue for the show, and will be the first time we have attended, so looking forward to it. We will have our demo 4490 splitting demos all day Friday and Saturday. There will also be some different tractor and portable models on show, so come along and have a look! The address is 329 Ridgley Hwy, Romaine.

22.01.2022 We had good weather for both the Ringarooma and Huon shows the last 2 Saturdays, despite rain threatening. Quite a bit of interest, and some log picks sold on the days, and we hope some splitter sales will result. Split around 3 tons at the Ringarooma show, large blocks of white gum which had been chainsaw ripped from 5' - 7' rounds, and then around a ton of blue gum at the Huon show, which was between green and dry and far tougher than the white gum. For the Ringarooma show we were fortunate enough to have the use of Rick Blackwell's 4490 which is still performing well with 790 hours on it, and Bruce Cox's 4403 on his JD6430, which enabled us to demonstrate both portable and tractor mounted splitters. At one stage both were operating at the same time, and wood was flying!

20.01.2022 The fire affected 2203's have now all been sold, one to Canberra, and two to the Sydney area. Of course, we can still order brand new 2203 for anyone who wants one. Our next show will be the Huon Show at Ranelagh on Saturday the 16th of Nov. As usual, there will be demos all day, and a selection of splitters on display. We are importing a range of firewood conveyors, so when the shipment arrives we'll give you an update.

18.01.2022 The Huon Show is coming up in the south of Tasmania on Saturday 17th of November. We will have a site up near the Kennel club above the side shows. Come along and watch how easy, fast and safe the Split-Fire log splitters are. There will be live demonstrations all day. We will have a selection of tractor powered and portable splitters on display, and also a supply of Muller log picks for sale. They make an excellent xmas present for the wood gatherer in your family!

13.01.2022 Over 4.6 tonnes of Split-Fire log splitters are arriving in Hobart next week, just in time for the coming firewood season. We will have most models of tractor mounted splitters, as well as 3 different size portables, so can cater for the occasional user to a firewood merchant. We also have 3 x 2203 tractor mounted splitters which have been fire damaged. These splitters will be hooked up to a power unit and tested before being released for sale at a reduced price, so if you ar...e looking for a cheaper unit that will still perform as new, give me a call! The 2203 is designed to run efficiently on a smaller or older tractor with less oil flow than a big tractor, but will still split up to 600mm diameter logs. We will be demonstrating the Split-Fire range again at Agfest, Tas, this year, on May 3,4 and 5. Our site is M116, on the southern end of Main rd near the sheep dog trials arena. Come and see how easy it is to split a load of wood using these magic machines!

10.01.2022 There are 2 portables and 3 tractor splitters in stock here in Hobart. We will be ordering more stock in June for mid July delivery from NZ. If anyone wants a specific model that we don't have, let me know and I'll get it in.

10.01.2022 Here is some footage of the WK3265 working. It is being used to split semi dry bluegum, a very tough proposition! The Wood King is the baby of our range of log splitters, but even so it will put in a good day's work. There are quite a few operating around Tassie and on the mainland, and the owners are happy with the performance.

09.01.2022 Had an excellent day at the Huon Show. The weather was cold, windy and wet at times, ideal for selling log splitters! here is a video of our new conveyor running on the demo 4490. The conveyor does increase the splitter cycle time by 2 seconds at full power, but hardly noticeable, and reduces wood handling considerably. The oil flow between the splitter and conveyor is controlled by a diverter valve, so the conveyor can be turned off while splitting to get full flow to the splitter. We have 5 conveyors in stock, and they retail at $3800 inc gst. Complete with hoses, valves, and fittings. Freight will be extra, of course! The conveyor folds for transport and has a winch with dyneema rope to raise and lower it. It is 3.2m long when extended, and has clearance of 1.7m (more if you put a block under the legs).

08.01.2022 Well, Agfest is nearly on us. I had the incorrect dates in the last post sorry, they are Thurs 2nd to Sat 4th May. The shipment has arrived, so there are most models of Split-fire and Wood-King splitters in stock. There has been quite a bit of interest in the fire damaged 2203's. I should clarify that these splitters were not actually in the fire, but they were close enough to be smoked. Once cleaned up they look and work as good as new. Because of the reduced price they will be sold as is where is, but be assured they will work like new! We will have one of them at Agfest. Come along and see them and the other models there. We will also have some 60 and 80cm log picks with us so save your back and pick one up, you'll never have to bend over to pick up a log again!

06.01.2022 Agfest is done and dusted - actually quite a bit of dust this year, which is better than dealing with the normal muddy tracks! Sold lots of log picks and some tractor powered and portable splitters so made all the preparation worthwhile. The Agfest committee supplied more rounds this year - all up we split around 10 tons of firewood. It was great to be able to use the 4 way head most of the time and show people how productive it is. The next field days for us will be Sheepvention at Hamilton, Vic, on the 7th and 8th of August, followed by the Elmore Machinery and Field days at Elmore, Vic, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of October.

06.01.2022 We have new stock arriving in a week or two. there will be various models of tractor powered splitters, as well as 3 of the largest portables. The portables have all been pre-sold as well as 3 of the tractor splitters. Freight seems to be a bit slower due to the Covid19 virus, so thanks for the patience of those who have ordered splitters. There are still 2 x WK3265 portable splitters in stock, 1 fitted with a log lifter.

06.01.2022 Here are a few pics from Steamfest. Very productive weekend, around 20 tons of firewood split, using the 4490 as well as Tom Huett's 3403 on the back of a borrowed John Deere. Tom was a great offsider, in fact without his help sawing the logs into 2' blocks we would have had nothing much to split. Lots of interest shown, as usual. We have received a load of splitters recently, so have plenty of stock for the coming season.

05.01.2022 Off to Sheepvention in July. Sheepvention is on the 1st and 2nd of August, and is situated at Hamilton, Victoria. Will be interesting to see how it goes as we haven't had a show in that area.

05.01.2022 Had a great time at Agfest on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week - raining, cold, windy, and heaps of people! We split around 4 tons demonstrating with our 4490, and were rewarded with 8 direct sales, and lots of interest. This year the Agfest commitee situated us on the main drag at the eastern end under the gum trees, and we thought it was a good spot for us. Thanks to all who attended our site and kept us on the hop, and to Jay at European Tools for supplying us with a fresh load of log picks!

03.01.2022 Off again next week to attend Steamfest at Sheffield, Tas. This 3 day event runs from Sat the 11th March, ending on Mon 13th. There are lots of old time machines and working displays. We will have a site splitting logs for the steam engines, using a Split-Fire 4490, and maybe a 3403 tpl splitter too, if we can persuade one of the locals to bring their tractor! We will bring as much stock as we can, and if you already know which splitter you want we can bring it with us and save you some freight.
