09.01.2022 1/2 time Rd 1 NEAFL: NT Thunder 3.4.22 trail Brisbane Lions 6.8.44. Brisbane made the early running in the second quarter and skipped out to a 14-point lead but... Thunder dug its boot studs in and though the forward line was congested, in the fifth minute it was two debut players in Adam Tipungwuti and Kieran Delahunty who linked up for a goal. Tipungwuti had a quick, clean pick up to keep the ball alive and Delahunty took the time to kick it and get Thunder's third for the game. Following that the Lions' numbers around the ball helped them push forward again and as the game had proven so far; the team who could keep the ball in possession eventually converted on the scoreboard and that's what Brisbane did, skipping out to a 22-point lead. Jacob Templeton left the ground for some medical attention after a clash midway through the term while Daniel Weetra and Tylah Saunders started to come into their own, getting their hands to as much as they could.
