25.01.2022 Another day in paradise for members of the Southern Tasmania Caravan Club at Quamby Corner Caravan Park. A benign morning and a relaxing afternoon. Sometimes we feel so far away from the rest of the world!

25.01.2022 Reg crafts his staffs is an idyllic environment. Yes, he has been mistaken for a couple of other characters!

24.01.2022 Dr Doolittle...or St Francis?

24.01.2022 Spring forward!

24.01.2022 Easter morning sunrise heralding a day of promise.

24.01.2022 Campers come in all shapes and sizes!

23.01.2022 "No such thing as bad weather ... just bad clothes!" is the saying. This week's Hobart Walking Club group had good weather and good gear enjoying three days of local bushwalks, (Projection Bluff, Liffey River walk and Mother Cumming's Peak) before heading back via Quamby Bluff. You still have to be pretty hardy though at this time of year!

22.01.2022 "Can I have somewhere away from others because I snore" he said. We at Quamby Corner try to accommodate all reasonable requests!

22.01.2022 Quamby Corner campers still asleep as the sun is about to come over Gum Top. Love the promise of misty autumn mornings after the recent dry summer months.

21.01.2022 https://targa.com.au//TARGA-Tasmania-Road-Closure-Document It seems Highland Lakes Road south of the caravan park is closed on Monday 19th between 11.50 and 16.20 for a Targa stage up to the Great Lake lookout. No problem accessing us from Deloraine or Westbury way and it looks like we'll have a good view of the competitors. Might have to put off that trip to Liffey Falls for another day, though.

21.01.2022 January is a lovely time of year for walking nearby Projection Bluff and other alpine areas because the flowers are pretty spectacular.

20.01.2022 When it is time to say "au revoir" and "arrivederci" to six of the farm workers, they gather with friends in the camp kitchen to have a farewell feast.

19.01.2022 Just cant help featuring this autumnal maple. Its a stunner!

19.01.2022 When the Quamby Corner caretaker duties extend to playing a harp. (It sounds much more angelic in the hands of its master).

19.01.2022 Goodbye autumn! Hello winter! See you later spring and summer!

19.01.2022 Maybe the "new normal" could include a container deposit scheme for Tas. Photos from the "old normal" weekly chore of sorting bottles and cans from our recyclable bins for the tip run. Folks may like the opportunity to "return and earn". Just a thought for the policy makers.

18.01.2022 Definitely a two poncho night on the way. Still smiling with a forecast of minus 3 degrees!

18.01.2022 A fire pot and a full moon! What a great setting for a long weekend camping get together!

15.01.2022 When the BBQ house doubles as an outdoor 13th birthday party space complete with home grown MC. Ready Steady Cake!

14.01.2022 A well earned rest at Quamby Corner Caravan Park for the NW walking group after exploring many local tracks and waterfalls. Any suggestions for a collective noun for cooler weather bush walkers? A huddle of hikers? A sillybilly of trampers? A rugged of ramblers? Thanks for the photo Chris.

14.01.2022 Peace in the valley. A pleasant fireside venue for a teacher staff meeting .... Launceston Christian School students already in their tents!

14.01.2022 Bon Bon does his social distancing.

13.01.2022 The first day of daylight saving was a little overcast but this tree bought at Deloraine Market some weeks ago looks set to live up to the cheery promise on its label.

13.01.2022 Yep. Its the first day of Agfest so its raining! Quamby Bluff is hiding while Quamby Corner is taking on its autumn look.

13.01.2022 Resident artist Joscelyn Beckling Briggs gives the powerhead sculptures their spring touch up paint. Here she is at sites 3 and 4 (3 horse shoes on the left, 4 horse shoes on the right) while Rudy the Labradoodle watches on admiringly.

13.01.2022 And Launceston Church Grammar School students are ready for off for another ride after nearly 50kms the day before!

11.01.2022 Great to see familiar faces back even if it is just for a little stay passing through! Aaron on the Tasmanian Trail heading for Dover on foot and catching up with Mariska at Quamby Corner on the way. Great work Aaron Z. Smiley !

09.01.2022 Misty, moisty, autumn stillness at Quamby Corner Caravan Park. Easter Saturday waiting for the sun to peep over Gumtop Hill and bring in a lovely day.

09.01.2022 Winter morning. Winter afternoon. Winter evening. Still lovely.

09.01.2022 COVID? Just put more boots on the ground!

09.01.2022 Calliska and Miacoda anticipate a ride with Tahnee and Dakota (Tasmanian Trail Northern Coordinator) to check out one of the nearby sections of the Trail.

08.01.2022 Relaxing in front of the fire at Quamby Corner after a full on day of kiddie activities in Deloraine.

08.01.2022 Thankful that weve been relatively sheltered from the unseasonal winds that have troubled the state lately, were enjoying the red hues that herald the approach of summer.

08.01.2022 A familiar face from last winter..... Grace drops by in the middle of a 40km training run in preparation for an ultramarathon.. Just about able to stand still long enough to say hi before she had to jog along!!

07.01.2022 A balmy blessed Easter morning at Quamby Corner. For some a lie-in; for the "Odd Bunch" of Tassie Trailers another leg of their journey ahead!

07.01.2022 Welcome overnight rain means that things have quietened down on the bush fire front up on the plateau and the road that was closed to our south is now open. Blue skies today. All we need now to complete the picture is a drop of snow on the mountain!

07.01.2022 When a handsome new guest (suitably attired) arrives to call Quamby Corner home for a while. Rocky, who did bring his human along, seems to be enjoying his corner of the Corner.

05.01.2022 Red sky at night - photographer's delight! Glorious end to a somewhat wild and woolly day.

05.01.2022 First snow of autumn but the leaves are still on the trees and theres enough blue sky to make a sailors handkerchief. A scene it would have been nice to share with more people. But............ https://www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au//accommodation-and-leav

05.01.2022 Saxon the Appaloosa, Max the Standard bred, Zeus the Arab cross and Artie the Waler rest up between legs of the Tasmanian Trail.

03.01.2022 Tassie Tractor Trekkers with interstate companions ... they came, they stayed, they trekked on!

03.01.2022 Stay home: Save lives.

02.01.2022 Unlike Launceston with its recent snow dump or Liaweenee with its record low of -14 degrees, Quamby Corner Caravan Park enjoys a pleasant morning crispness before a nice sunny day!

01.01.2022 Oliver and Kai + campfire + marshmallows = perfect school holiday fun with Nan as the night closes in.

01.01.2022 All this and more above and around Golden Valley. Memories from Quamby Corner Caravan Park's recent guests. Thanks again for the pics, Chris.
