25.01.2022 Hi there. My nickname is Awesome Wells. I am three and a half months old and I am very tall for my age - in fact I am the tallest foal at Quanah Park - quite an accomplishment because there are plenty of big kids around this year. My sire is Fiorente and my dam is Eyelash. I would like to aim for the Australian Derby and Victorian Derby when I am a 3yo and then a bit later I might be able to have a crack at the Melbourne Cup just like Dad did. Life is just full of possibilities isnt it !!

24.01.2022 Jeepers Flashy - you nearly made me cry! Flashy (aka Rayarnie) won again yesterday - this time at Ascot over 2200 metres in fine style. Flashy was orphaned at 12 hours old when we had to say goodbye to his very brave mumma Flashy Doll. So from beginnings with Trish and Rene - as your human parents and carers (and milk supply and bottle washers), your horsey nanny and teacher a 30 year old Welsh pony mare named Nanna Lysie and to see you once again beating the odds speaks volumes for your strength of character Flashy. So proud of you buddy. Onwards and upwards.

24.01.2022 August has certainly been a big month for Quanah Parks I Love Rubies family. Wills (aka Rubino Veloce by Sebring) chalks up his second win in a row today in this preparation(also two seconds and a third) for the Portelli stable. Congratulations to all connections and long may it continue!! Boomer ( 2yo Magnus / I Love Rubies colt) is purchased and syndicated by SJ Racing NSW and Rowe Racing WA and is currently a stand out at the breakers. To top it off Rubies - at the very respectful time of 6.30 this morning (bless her) - foals an outstanding colt by Universal Ruler. Photos are at 8 hours old. Yep, another KEEPER! He is one big cuddly boy! Top job Rubies - you deserve a holiday! #stretchedtothelimit

24.01.2022 CAPTAIN STIRLING DOES IT AGAIN - AND HIS TIMING IS PERFECT!! It has been a long road back and it was time to step back into to City class today...Harry you did it like a champ. Absolutely gave them a galloping lesson...and you did it in a canter! Sister Peppi - by Magnus out of Sharmane - might be one of the IT GIRLS in the upcoming Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale - heres hoping!

24.01.2022 Mervyn you finally cracked the big one. Six starts this time in for one third, four frustrating seconds and at last you caught the bouquet, shafted the bridesmaid tag and got to the alter! You were such a good looking lad - unlike your namesake Merv Hughes. Glad Justin kept the name we gave you as a foal. There was just nothing else that would have meant the same. Yep, you just bowled the maiden over!!!!!

22.01.2022 This cantankerous little lady is Lunar (Alfred Nobel / Not Affected) caught in the act of giving her ever patient mother Affy a good talking too...again...at a week old. Oh boy is she going to be a handful!

21.01.2022 Triple Event (4yo g. Alfred Nobel / Rosendorff) won again in impressive style today at Pinjarra over 1400m for Jeff and Mavis Pike. It is very rewarding to see the babies you have put so much time and effort into grow up and go out into the big wide world and strutt their stuff !! Well done George

19.01.2022 How is this for a set of legs!! Meet Sonny. (Alfred Nobel / Rosendorff) He was born just after midnight on the 24th August and had a traumatic first 40 hours. He initially refused to drink from Mum and was very uncordinated but he survived because he would take a bottle with milk supplied by his wonderful mum who has the patience and tolerance of a saint (as did his human family). Last night to our great relief (and with some human ingenuity) Sonny suddenly figured it out and the difference 12 hours can make in a very young foals life is amazing. Drinking, running and enjoying. Onwards and upwards Sonny.

It was so good to see you live up to the expectations of your connections knowing that it sometimes takes a bit of time to put a jigsaw puzzle together. Our beautiful Roxy will be looking down at you with pride. Onwards and upwards buddy!!

19.01.2022 It was such a gorgeous day for our 2019 Magic Millions yearling sale photos yesterday. Unlike previous years where we have had rain, wind and clouds this year we were bathed in sunshine. So happy humans and brilliantly behaved horses...yes...brilliantly behaved Magnus babies in particular (we have been reliably informed that this is a particularly desirable yet rare trait in Magnus children...). So well done to Peppi, Boomer and of course Steak Knives. Love this little bunch of babies and we are as always very appreciative of the efforts of Eric Lloyd and of course our forever friend and co-worker Vanessa.

19.01.2022 Next little cracker!! A Mahuta / I Love Rubies filly born at the very respectable time of 9.30pm on Tuesday night (Photo at 3 days old). Absolute quality type - and very confident. This is class East Coast racehorse Mahutas first WA foal crop so if this is the type we can expect he has a great chance of becoming the next thing. WA sure needs a next thing !!!

Just shows what a versatile quality lad you are because you not only won, you won running away. Well done to Laming Racing and all connections.Thank you also to Super Vobis. Woohoo!!

17.01.2022 Good news Sonny. Big brother TRIPLE EVENT (Alfred Nobel / Rosendorff) won in fine style at Northam yesterday by leading all the way in a 1300m maiden after a couple of very unlucky seconds at Belmont and Pinjarra. Congrats to all. (Nice to get a little Westspeed bonus too!)

15.01.2022 Well by George you did it !! (aka Triple Event) We thought you had a pretty good chance at Pinjarra today over 1300 metres...but the punters disagreed. So when you won (by a bees dick...) you paid $98.90 on the tote - hope Jeff took his wheelbarrow to the races to collect the bikkies! Well done to all involved.

14.01.2022 A busy morning here! Two colt foals born at 5am (bless mummies that are so respectful of the need for humans to sleep). Quanah Parks Imanun (clearly she is not!) foaled a very leggy and tall Awesome Rock colt (photos are at 5 hours old). It took him a while to realise that you can sleep lying down - he seemed to insist that standing up is better. Dennis Barkers Amusement Parks young Mahuta colt (photos at 6 hours). Parksy Jnr got it right from the get go.

14.01.2022 The sun took a day off for our 2018 Magic Millions Yearling Sale photos which was a shame but it has certainly shone on our youngsters quality. All made Book One Day One for this years sale. Very proud of our little band of babies.

13.01.2022 Captain Stirling (aka Harry) won first up at Northam today. No first up trial, did all the work from the outside gate and needed a minor reminder that he wasnt out there for a Sunday picnic to cruise home and win going away. Last 600m in 33.7. Thanks Harry. Mum Sharmane is very proud and Trish and Rene appreciate the Westspeed bonus. Best wishes to you and your connections for the rest of this prep.

11.01.2022 We blinked...and here we are again - Magic Millions February 2020 Perth Yearling Sales. Quanah Parks small draft consisted of four lots for inspection this year and all got the nod of approval. X-rays - (36 per horse) always a time when deep breathing into a paper bag helps - showed the best possible result for each of these babies...how does it go...life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what youre gonna get. Yearling x-rays are the same! A great big thank you to Eric and Jess Lloyd for their expertise and patience with our babies and the photos again and as always we just could not do these sales without the help of the wonderful Vanessa.

09.01.2022 Quanah Park, with the assistance of Kayley at Rushton Park Victoria, shows some of the antics of our two day old filly by Star Turn and the first foal of the young Snitzel mare Little Lies. Clearly a youngster who seems to have a good handle on co-ordination but also a good dose of confidence. Kayley put her personal well-being at great risk here - how many two day old foals leave Mums side to rush at a video camera and try to kick the person behind it, then run, turn and give an arrogant flick of the head. We have named her Serena - we hope she has inherited racetrack ability to match her attitude.

08.01.2022 Sharmane deserves a great big cuddle. Not only has she produced another cracking foal - this time by Magnus - she managed to foal down at 6.20am on Monday the 14th while the sun was shining and there was no wind or rain - she had an hour before it bucketed down again. How did she pick it ??? Peppi is a healthy very strong filly with heaps of up front character - exactly what you want to see in a new baby. She is 10 hours old in the photos.

06.01.2022 Oh my goodness!! Gump...you bloody beauty!! Racing as Equaletta in Victoria after being sold to Laming Racing in Quanah Parks 2018 Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale draft Gump overcame an awful incident at the old Belmont Park sales complex to go over the Nullabor and show what we always knew he had...a bit of class. Well done on winning as a 2 year old at only your second race start (close 3rd at start one) and congratulations to your connections. Oh and thank you for the Super Vobis Nominators Bonus. Woohoo!

05.01.2022 Just in time for the last crack at the Westspeed bonus as a 3 year old Clarke has finally figured out that you dont wait for the other horses to catch up and play - you run in front of them. And you did and you won! Well done buddy - still learning but getting the idea now. Mum Affy (Not Affected) is very relieved as she is in foal with your full brother or sister. (Not to mention your human family who are also very relieved!!!)

As our beloved four legged friends are usually the cause of high stress levels it is so uplifting to see one overcome a freakish injury, slowly get his confidence back and blow the opposition away in great style. 02.01.2022 Captain Stirling (aka Harry) drew wide, lost a length at the jump and came home like a good horse to only go down by a short neck at Ascot in his first ever race start on Saturday. Well done Harry. PS: We look forward to a Westspeed Breeders Bonus next start!

Wills (pictured as a yearling) is out of our lovely Rubiton mare I Love Rubies by Sebring so we were hopeful he just might crack the big time over on the East Coast. Purchased by Gary Portelli Wills easily won a trial at Warwick Farm last Tuesday (21.11.17). It was the way he did it...that beautiful fluent long stride....good for you Willsy!

02.01.2022 Mervyn you never cease to amaze us - we at Quanah Park are so proud of you! Handsome is as handsome does - tough as teak with a heart of gold. Another gutsy win again yesterday on the big stage at Ascot by the smallest of margins - refusing to give in after leading all the way. Now with earnings of over $170,000 - a great return on a $6000 yearling buy! And no doubt there remains a massive upside as you soldier on so congratulations to your connections and wishing you and your team the very best.

01.01.2022 HARRYS BACK!! (aka Captain Stirling)...Rather than an unpaid trial why not go for a stroll at Narrogin for a bit of pocket money. The very best buddy for a campaign that will show what you can REALLY do. Also a good effort by Triple Event to belt home for third - George will require more ground to show his best.

01.01.2022 Foaling time is like unwrapping giant Christmas presents - sometimes you love them and sometimes you want to send them back to the shop for a refund. This one is a KEEPER! At one day old and a definite for a future yearling draft this cracking colt is by All American from our beautiful mare Texas Spur. I guess there are no prizes for guessing his farm name....??

By Press Statement - hence the name Perry (White) Chief Editor of the legendary newspaper The Daily Planet (We seem to have a Superman theme happening at Quanah Park). Mother and son bonding well.
