24.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day. This is a day which prompts us to look out for each other, specifically during this current climate of uncertainty and hardship. # This is why we encourage everyone to learn the signs. If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re doing or saying - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK?... By acting as ‘eyes and ears’ and reaching out to anyone who's going through a tough time we can show them they’re supported and encourage them to access help sooner. To learn more about the signs, please view https://bit.ly/knowthesigns1 #QuantumSafety

16.01.2022 This week is National Reconciliation Week, and the theme for #NRW2020 In this together serves as a reminder that now more than ever, whether in a crisis or in reconciliation, we are all in this together. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. ...We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. Through our related entities, Quantum Safety shares a strong focus on providing working opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, which forms part of our groups' reconciliation action plan. Let us all do our part by spreading awareness to the wider communities of this incredible initiative, to break down stereotypes and barriers whilst building bridges & strive towards a more just, equitable nation by championing unity and mutual respect as we come together and connect with one another. #QuantumSafety

11.01.2022 The annual industry-wide event "Rail R U OK Day" is on this Thursday 30th April 2020. The aim of this event is to inspire rail staff across Australia and New Zealand to look out for one another during life's (including work life's) ups and downs by asking "Are you OK?" and really listening to the answer. The 4 basic steps which can help you carry this out successfully is to; 1. Ask "R U Ok?" - Help them open up by asking questions like "How are you going?" or "What’s been hap...pening? 2. Listen with an Open Mind - Take what they say seriously and don't interrupt or rush the conversation 3. Encourage Action - You could say: "When I was going through a difficult time, I tried this... You might find it useful too." 4. Check-in - Pop a reminder in your diary to call them in a couple of weeks. If they're really struggling, follow up with them sooner. Asking isn’t always easy, but it could change a life Let's get involved and be there for one another. A conversation can sometimes save a life. * - Some conversations are too big for family and friends to take on alone. If someone’s been really low for more than 2 weeks - or is at risk - please contact a professional as soon as you can. #RailRUOKDAY2020 #QuantumSafety
