24.01.2022 Food for thought.

19.01.2022 On Saturday, 23rd November, Lodge Queanbeyan St Andrew celebrated their annual Installation and investiture of Officers. However, on this occasion the 26 year o...ld Master-Elect, Ben, was Installed by his father, Gary, as Master of their own Lodge. The emotion, colour, solemnity and wonder of this day will be long remembered by each of the large number of attending members, visitors, Grand Lodge officers, ladies and gentlemen. Ben’s mother, Angela, is a Past Worthy Matron of Capital Chapter Order of the Eastern Star (OES), and Ben’s father, Gary, is not only a Past DGIW of District 48 but is currently serving Capital Chapter as Worthy Patron. The attending ladies included a large delegation from Capital Chapter. A number of attendees have been members of International Order of Rainbow for girls, and DeMolay for boys. In the words of Angela, this was a wonderful and moving celebration of our Masonic Family. See more

14.01.2022 Our regular meeting last month (20th October), saw the initiation of Brother Jason Phillips. This was the first work for the Lodge since the COVID pandemic began forcing closures around the world. It was a great night in the Lodge, and the Festive Board after. We filled our COVID Safe quota of 29 in the building. A very special night for Jason was a great night for all.

11.01.2022 Last night was a special night indeed for Ian and Henry Marjason. A father and son, they were initiated together at Lodge Queanbeyan St. Andrew 56 last night. The Lodge room was full to COVID capacity, as was the South for the Festive Board. The meeting was also attended by two of our other EAF, who saw the ceremony for the first time. A great night was had by all. Photos include Brother Ian Marjason and his son, Brother Henry Marjason, being presented with their nameplate and pin by out DGIW, VW Brother Peter Bache, and then all four EAF with the DGIW after the ceremony was concluded. Having missed the ANZAC meeting in April due to COVID-19, and being shortly after Remembrance Day, the JD and SD wore Mess Dress for the evening and are pictured with our Chaplain, Brother Steve Tizard, OAM.

11.01.2022 Our next meeting, to be held on 17 November will be another initiation. This meeting will see the joint initiation of a father and son. This is certain to be a very special occasion not only for the two candidates but for all members attending. We have already filled our COVID Safe quota of 29, with more names filling a cancellation list. This is sure to be a great night for all, and a great festive board after. 04.01.2022 Lodge Queanbeyan St Andrew is back to our regular meetings at the Queanbeyan Masonic Centre. Our cover photos have been changed to reflect our Lodge. The front of the QMC now, the front of the Queanbeyan Masonic Temple, as it was known as in the 1920’s, and brethren from our meeting last month in our Lodge Room. As you can see we take the current times seriously. We are a COVID Safe registered business, use masks and sanitiser as needed. As we approach the festive season be mindful of your health and safety, and that of your friend and family. Let’s finish 2020 better that it started.

03.01.2022 The United Supreme Grand Chapter of Mark and Royal Arch Masons of NSW and ACT (it needs a shorter title) held its regular Convocation this weekend - proving it ...is possible for NSW grand bodies to continue to conduct business and be transparent in their governance in the current climate. The meeting was broadcast from the beautiful Egyptian Room of Royal Arch Masonic Temple, Petersham , the home of Royal Arch masonry in NSW to a large audience. Better communication is one of the few positive outcomes of adapting to the COVID world. These are shots on the fly from the bleachers - so no prize winning photos here. See more
