18.01.2022 WOW - The Queen of the Murchison Guest House& Cafe has just been voted by our guests as a Travellers' Choice Winner. Amazingly, this puts us into the top 10% of hotels WORLDWIDE!! Imagine that? A world class winner in outback Cue. We want to thank all our guests who wrote very flattering reviews which is the basis for the award. Now all you need to do is come and see for yourself why we won this award. Travel overseas is not on at the moment, so its time you ticked off an outback trip on your bucket list. See you soon.

17.01.2022 Yesterday, 6th March was a red-letter day for Queen of the Murchison. The last bedroom - Room 4 was painted. Yay! Really happy about that. I didn't do all of it - I had some help -from Ian, David, Darryl - thanks a million! Room 4 was last used as an office by the team from Evolution Mining and all nicely spruced up for when they re-commence their drilling programme. We're all ready for all of you when it is safe to travel.

13.01.2022 Before the heat becomes unbearable, we have been working on the rear yard to improve the guest entry from the car park. The soil is non-wetting clay, so we have added many bags of soil mix and compost to improve it. We have planted a few hardy natives, 2 jasmines and a honeysuckle at the back door and a few daises in an old 3 section trough. My nick-name used to be Agent Orange so we will see if any of these plants survive. A large area and some of the pathway to the car-park has been paved, so I don't get bogged with the laundry trolley. We will post some photos when it is finished!

03.01.2022 We've been busy. As always - but making the place look nicer for our guests. Take a look at the new pathway at the rear entry from the car park.

01.01.2022 As summer is upon us - we have had our first 47 degree day - we have installed fridges in almost all the rooms. I know that they are very popular. If only we could add en-suite bathrooms!!!

01.01.2022 The Corona virus hasn't been good for much, but it has given us a bit of space to get on with more painting. We were lucky enough to be able to offer board & lodging to a displaced young Spanish geologist whose father just happens to be a painting contractor!!! David has been helping him since he was 8 so he was happy to do a fair exchange! What a find!!! He has finished rooms 5, 12, 13 and 14 and almost finished the long corridor which services all those rooms. It was previously in Colourbond's ox blood. This made it look very dark and uninviting. Now, it is light and bright. Looking forward to finishing off the doors and skirting to complete the look. PS We are still open!!
