09.01.2022 We have learnt that making public statements in relation to new homicides can cause mistrials. Please know that there is so much we want to say in every loss. What we do however, is commit ourselves to the behind the scenes support for every homicide in QLD. We do this for all people regardless of age, gender, cultural or religious beliefs. Our wish is that QHVSG did not need to exist. We wish the homicides would stop. ... For 24/7 support, simply call us on 1800 774 744

09.01.2022 **An important message for QHVSG members from Santa!** You are invited to the QHVSG Children's Christmas Party! The RSVP form can be found at the link below. There is no need to print the form out; simply download it, fill it out, save it and email it to us at [email protected]... IMPORTANT: RSVP's are essential! Santa needs to know exactly how many children are coming - it would be devastating if your child was the only one who didn't receive a gift from Santa. We also need all adults and children over 12 that are attending to RSVP to ensure we comply with our COVID safe plan and for catering purposes. Unfortunately children that are not in attendance on the day cannot be catered for. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] We hope to see you there! https://qhvsg.org.au//QHVSG-Childrens-Christmas-Party-2019

06.01.2022 On a cool Saturday 5th of June morning, Mackay QHVSG members planted daisies in memory of their loved ones at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens followed by a lovely picnic. Our Awareness Day coincided with the Gardens open day which attracted lots of visitors. The children took great delight in spreading love and awareness by placing the lovely stones which were so beautifully painted and generously donated by Michelle Symonds around the Gardens to be found and either treas...ured or repositioned throughout the Gardens for someone else to be able to find. Members and the public will be able to visit the Gardens over the coming weeks and months and see our beautiful garden of yellow daisies a symbolic tribute to our loved ones. Thank you to the staff of the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens for making this possible for our members. QHVSG would also like to that Leanne Pullen for organising this lovely day for the Mackay members. We appreciate you and everything that you do. Thank you, Leanne

06.01.2022 Gabriel Meyer 10.09.75 - 12.01.93 Our Dearest Gabe You already know how much we love and miss you even more with each passing day. One thing we don’t often get to share is the light you continue to bring to our lives. We feel your presence in everything we do and want you to know how proud and honoured we are to be your parents. When I reflect on your extraordinary life I do not think it is coincidence that everyone in your family has gone on to care and support other people.... We learned so much from you. We learned patience, mindfulness and determination from watching you spend quiet hours exploring the world and simply messing about in boats. I still listen for your old Johnston outboard chugging up the river and long to hear one of your magical stories. We experienced joy and laughter from your endless adventures and shenanigans. I still wonder how many teenage mates you sold your homemade grapefruit wine to before we caught on You were a friend to all with empathy and compassion especially for people who struggled in life. Oh and your creativity was remarkable from building a clay fired kiln to hand carving fishing lures. Of course, you were also an entrepreneur as well. The bucket you made to collect change for coconuts and starfruit stalls still hangs on the garage wall waiting for the next great money making scheme. Mostly though we are in awe of your love and courage. Dad recalls the time you swam into the black ocean without thought of your own safety to grab the only water barrel after the sailboat sank. You were not going to give up without a fight to save your family. We were so lucky to have you with us even for a short time. We could not help but absorb your energy and enthusiasm for life. We are truly blessed to share in your gentle strength as all of our journeys continue on together. You were and are our hero my beautiful boy for so many reasons. Love Mum Dad and your Family See more

04.01.2022 Mitchell Ferrario 16.06.1972 09.04.2009 Those we love can never be more than a thought away... For as long as there's a memory, they live in our hearts to stay.... Mitch, your memory will always live on in those who love you and your light will shine bright forever. We love and miss you beyond words. Until we meet again, Your loving family xx
