25.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 12 student Angie Zhou from Queensland Academies Health Sciences Campus who has been selected to represent Australia in Biology at the 2020 International Science Olympiad Angie is the only student in Qld on any of the teams and the first Qld student in 7 years to make the biology team!

23.01.2022 IBDP Core Snapshot of Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) The IBDP consists of the DP Core and six subject groups. The DP Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS) aims to broaden students educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills. CAS enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience.



23.01.2022 IBDP Core Snapshot of Theory of Knowledge (TOK) The IBDP consists of the DP core and six subject groups. The DP Core is made up of three required components (TOK, CAS and EE) and aims to broaden students educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills. TOK asks students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, and on how we know what we claim to know.

They were selected from a highly competitive field and will participate alongside other high-achieving Year 11 students in a week long camp over the upcoming September holidays

13.01.2022 At the beginning of this month, Year 8 Brilliant Futures Gold Coast students took part in the Brilliant Futures STEM Camp. The camp was held at Numinbah Valley Environment Education Centre, with 41 students who came from a number of different primary schools across the Gold Coast. The NVEEC provide deeply engaging educational sessions through Natural Bridge glow worm caves, water testing and investigation along the Nerang river, and other sustainability and mindfulness sessio...ns in the centre's forest surrounds, that increase students' awareness of, and connection to, their environment and eco system. 07.01.2022 National Science Week has been awesome! Activities were held across Queensland Academies Campuses this week. Highlights: Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics & Technology students had Lunch with a Scientist where they talked to scientists from multiple fields in a casual environment. Queensland Academies Creative Industries students undertook a physics prac to test whether a vehicle has greater velocity at the bottom of a ramp when the mass of the vehicle is increased. Queensland Academies Health Sciences Campus students embraced their competitive spirits in their house groups to compete in Science Survivor, with Ventus House taking out the win! We already cant wait for National Science Week next year!
