24.01.2022 Entries from all over QLD have been received and are awaiting judging this Saturday at Newstead Brewing Co.. A team of 5 spent Saturday morning chasing across Brisbane to collect, scan and sort the 400 entries from 130 brewers that were received. We have 40 judges, 10 stewards and a host of background staff to get your best brews analysed. ... Quality feedback is our goal for every single entered beer, mead and cider whether you place or not. This year we have the most ever BJCP qualified judges paired with a huge number of local industry professionals (head brewers & sensory trained staff). Every single person involved in the Queensland Amateur Brewing Championship is a volunteer wanting nothing more than to get brewers making better brews! If you didnt get a chance to put your name down to help and are keen please contact us as there may be a spot for you. As always thanks again to our massive list of sponsors: Newstead Brewing Co., Newera Brewing, Hoppy Days Brewing Supplies, National Home Brew, Inkbird Australia, Cryer Malt, CraftBrewer & The PubShop, ABs Honey, Brewers Choice, Wyeast Laboratories, Inc., Helios Brewing Company, QAAWBG

08.01.2022 Organising the QABC takes a lot of effort from a lot of people who volunteer their time, but most of all it takes a generous brewery like Newstead Brewing Co. to allow us to run the competition in their venue. 6 weeks to go brewers! We hope to see many of you down at Newstead for a beer after the comp. Support your local!
08.01.2022 Well the results are in for another very successful State Comp! The results summary can be found on the QABC website at www.qabc.org.au The summary only includes results of entries that scored 30 points or higher. Full results will be available on the website in the next day or so.... Congratulations are in order for Scott Eckford, who won Champion Brewer, in a close countback result over second placegetter Cary MacDonald! Cameron Dowie picked up the prize for Champion Beer with his high scoring American Porter - another countback win, over Thomas Walruts doppelbock. BABBs managed to wrest the Champion Club trophy back from last years winner, the RBT Club from Townsville. Congratulations all the winners and 2nd and 3rd placegetters. You will all be contacted soon regarding your eligibility to enter the AABC in Melbourne in October, so we can bring back the National trophy to Queensland! Please be patient on the delivery of all your scoresheets. Your committee, and in particular your Chief Registrar Colin Wright, have been working tirelessly to deliver a successful competition and are taking a few days rest to regain some sanity! I would like to personally thank this years committee for doing such a great job. Big ups to Troy Parker, Aydan Rogers, Dean Tummers, Colin Wright, Cary MacDonald and Nick Holt. Cheers, Steve Wharton.

04.01.2022 A Correction: An error was made in the calculation of Champion Club. Following a readjustment of scores and places after a split flight Best of Show round, we neglected to readjust the club points allocations. The title of Champion Club was incorrectly given to BABBs, when in fact it is actuallly GOLD Club. Congratulations GOLD Club - champions for 2018!... Commiserations to BABBs, and our sincerest aplologies for any premature celebrations you may have endured.
