24.01.2022 It’s never too late to start enjoying the outdoors. The lady in this book started at 67 years .... and kept going. Inexperienced as she was that first time (she had been dreaming of it for years) she still packed rain gear, first aid, food and a change of clothes.

23.01.2022 Easy half-day walk on the tracks in Burleigh Head NP.

23.01.2022 A mid week outing with Redlands club members - from Simpsons Falls side of Mt Coot-tha this morning. We even got a bit of off track training done.

22.01.2022 A foray into the forest along fire trails to ascend Mt Gannon near Austinville - then along a Razorback to the most amazing lookout. Views to Mt Tallebudgera, the Cougals, Mt Warning, and Springbrook.

20.01.2022 As club members we like to be responsible, prepared and informed. To upgrade and revise member skills our Committee recently arranged for QAS to provide a first aid information/training day. Ideally we’d like not to need to use these on our adventures .... but in the bush......... there can be unexpected surprises

19.01.2022 A high tide paddle today for a few keen to see the start of 2021 .... minus that sinking feeling The 2.64m high wasn’t quite enough to get us all across the narrow land neck between Nudgee and Nundah Creeks with a shallow portage required.

11.01.2022 Base camp at Spicers Gap (Main Range NP) this weekend was a fun social gathering. Walks included the Mt Mathieson trail (circuit) the heritage section and Governor’s Chair on Saturday and Bare Rock via Mt Cordeaux on Sunday. Great views from lookouts and a variety of vegetation. Bird sightings included crimson rosellas, king parrots, eastern yellow robins and two lucky walkers saw a lyrebird.

04.01.2022 Cainbable Falls - an old track not well trod. Out from O’Reillys, starting from Duck Creek Road. There were a few old NP arrows to follow and a warning near the falls. 9 hikers enjoyed the rainforest then clambering along the rocky creek and great views from the escarpment.
