13.01.2022 Supercars has issued the below media statement regarding the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. While discussions are currently taking place, Supercars has not made any decisions about upcoming events. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will comply with the latest government health advice as the Coronavirus situation continues to evolve. Should we need to postpone an event, we are fully prepared to adapt our calendar to deliver a complete Championship in 2020. The safety of our people and fans remains our priority. We will provide further event information when it becomes available

13.01.2022 Todays Test and Tune cancelled

13.01.2022 Please see below the Statement Release from our CEO Sean Seamer. Today, on behalf of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, I want to provide an update on our plan for managing the 2020 Championship during the months ahead. We have been working diligently to assess all available options to ensure continuity of the Series.... Obviously, the situation is evolving, but we acknowledge the need to act decisively with the information we have at hand. Our sport is a visceral experience and rather than run without crowds, we have decided, along with our key broadcast and government partners, to delay any further racing until June. Tasmania, Auckland and Perth events will all be postponed until later in the year, not cancelled. Fortunately, our calendar this year enables us to do this. Supercars priority is to deliver the 14 round 2020 championship for our fans and partners, irrespective of the dates. Bathurst will obviously proceed on its scheduled date. We have a plan for how we can make that happen and will begin discussions with all of our stakeholders over the coming days to lock this in. We anticipate that we will be able to formalise and communicate this plan within the next few weeks. In the meantime, we are unique and fortunate in that we are able to simulate our racing via eSports. So, between now and late June, Supercars will host, via Twitch, Fox Sports and Kayo, an eSeries Championship where fans will get to see our stars battle it out in a virtual world while we wait to go racing again for real. Our new annual behind the scenes Docuseries, The Inside Line- A Season with Erebus Motorsport, will ensure that, in conjunction with our eSeries, Supercars and its stars stay in our fans living rooms over the coming days and weeks. Eight episodes of this series will be available from March 30 on Foxtel, Fox Sports and Kayo. We wish our fans, partners and people all the best through these challenging times. Please know that as soon as we have new dates, we will advise you!

11.01.2022 The Board of Wllowbank Raceway has been constantly monitoring the current situation regarding restrictions imposed around the country as a result of the Covid-19 Virus. With the current status of border closures between Victoria, NSW and Queensland, the board has been left with no option but to CANCEL the 2020 Gulf Western Oils Winternationals scheduled on the weekend of 17 -20 September 2020 due to a lack of ability for competitors to attend Willowbank Raceway. The Board is ...very disappointed with having to make this decision, but in order to host the truly national event, all states should be represented and this is not achievable under the current circumstances. The Board has determined that any competitor that has been entered in this years event, will be offered a transfer of their entry fee to next years event with no price increase applied for any competitors that accept this offer. Spectators that have purchased tickets to this years event, will be offered a transfer to next years event with no additional price increase from this years event. Importantly, both these offers will ensure that these ticket holders and competitors are locked into this years pricing. Willowbank Raceway will be in contact with all competitors and ticket purchasers over the next three weeks, to provide updated information and full details of all the options available to them including transfer, credit or a refund if requested. On a positive note, Willowbank is planning for an event, utilising our Queensland based competitors and if possible those from interstate, which will take place later this year. Those ticket holders that retain their tickets for the 2021 Gulf Western Oils Winternationals will also have as an added bonus, the benefit of being granted exclusive access to purchase tickets to attend this new event being added to our calendar. This bonus will allow them to purchase tickets, prior to going on sale to the general public, under the limited capacity Covid-19 restrictions which remain in place. So, the committee are discussing whether we forge ahead with the upcoming General Meeting, this Thurs, or not given we have a responsibity to you and the greater community. There are also new rules regarding the number of people that can be in a particular space, so we would need an idea of likely attendees in advance anyway. Similarly consideration is being given to alternate means of discussing Club affairs. So this post is to garner some idea of peoples thoughts and to ask Club members to advise whether they would likely attend (you can do that privately). Also any thoughts on effective means for holding a pseudo meeting would be appreciated

01.01.2022 Cancellation of the January Shootout events. Following the announcement today by the Queensland Government of a mandatory 3-day lockdown for greater Brisbane, w...hich includes the Ipswich region, unfortunately we have no option but to immediately cancel both the Test Day scheduled for later today and the event on Saturday the 9th of January 2021 in order to keep our fans and racers safe. While we are extremely disappointed, but we have no other option but to make this decision. We will be in touch with all ticket holders next week to discuss our refund or transfer policy for all tickets purchased for this event.
