24.01.2022 THE TALENTED Richard Anderson. Quirky humour, pink long sleeved shirt, and youve seen him at Cowal on stage. Rings a bell? Well, he doesnt play the bells... hes our favourite piper! Many a Queenslander dancer has gone forth to his tunes. Retiring before he is due, he has just released his album, free for your practising. Clear the lounge floor, and get to it! https://soundcloud.com/user-791421318/sets/step-in-time

04.01.2022 WITH THOUGHTS to the families of Denise McPHERSON. Her love of highland dancing has been carried through her children and grandchildren, and to many others. Joining the Queensland Highland Dancing Association (QHDA) in the mid-1970s and then the Womens Auxiliary of the Caledonian and Burns Club (Callies), she helped run many, many competitions including the Moreton Bay Championships and the South Queensland Saint Andrews Day Championships. She had been a secretary, treasurer and president over the years for these committees and was delegate to the South Queensland Regional Committee of Highland Dancing Inc. (SQRCHDI) for QHDA from 1977 to the mid-2000s. She was also treasurer of the SQRCHDI in the 1990/1991 financial year. RIP Denise Pamela McPHERSON 19372020.
04.01.2022 Many dancing and other Scottish events are being postponed during this world health crisis. If your young dancers do not understand, please explain it is all part of a community response to #FlattenTheCurve, so we can #StopTheSpread. Each organisation carefully assesses the holding of events in line with advice from the Australian Government chief medical officer to proceed or cancel. Remember to #BeAlertAndInformed. And... keep dancing.
02.01.2022 Hot off the presses! 2020 championship and premiership steps will carry forward to 2021! Keep your focus! Your goal is the 2020 Champion of Champions Championships on the Gold Coast in 2021. You get to test your metal for the medal!
01.01.2022 As youre dusting out the cupboard and finding the kilt and aboyne, have fun designing your new one. (They are missing a few horizontal stripes, but just ignore that!)
