24.01.2022 Palmer confirms commercial property purchase in Townsville Clive Palmer has made a further commitment to the people of Townsville with the purchase of a three-s...torey heritage building in Flinders Street. In a sign that that court action by the General Purpose Liquidator (GPL) against Queensland Nickel was reaching a conclusion, Mr Palmer said he was happy to once again be voting with his money for the local community. At the end of the day, the GPL’s claims will be shown to have no merit and were made just to enrich themselves. They demonstrate the appalling amount of greed in the industry,’’ Mr Palmer said. The same was true with the Special Purpose Liquidator (SPL) who have released me and all other defendants from all claims and they have also unequivocally withdrawn all allegations against me because they knew they were false,’’ he said. Mr Palmer said it was a disgrace that Queensland Nickel was put into liquidation, resulting in thousands of jobs being lost. The liquidators put themselves before the Townsville community when Queensland Nickel was fully solvent. They could have kept the refinery operating, instead they chose to destroy thousands of lives,’’ Mr Palmer said. Mr Palmer said the Queensland Nickel management fought a great battle in keeping the refinery and its assets in excellent condition, meaning the $6 billion facility would be fit to serve future generations. Clive Mensink fought for years to keep the refinery going. His good work will soon be resurrected when the refinery reopens and for that reason he should be knighted,’’ Mr Palmer said. Mr Palmer’s new commercial property known as The Queensland Building was constructed in 1892 as the head office for an insurance company. It comprises 368sqm over three levels, in a prominent CBD location. ENDS

24.01.2022 Palmer allocates $400m to reopen Townsville Refinery Clive Palmer said today that his company had allocated $400 million to reopen the refinery in Townsville in 2020. We have commenced the process of restarting the refinery which will provide substantial employment for the communities of North Queensland,’’ Mr Palmer said.... We are still hoping to avoid court proceedings with the Port of Townsville and would encourage the Queensland Government to assist in allowing Queensland Nickel access to its port berth so it can process and refine imported ore. Mr Palmer has called on Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and State Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington to put politics aside and allow the Townsville refinery to get back into production so it can begin employing North Queenslanders. It is unbelievable we have been denied access to our port berth,’’ he said. The business plans to provide up to a 1000 jobs, with Mr Palmer confirming that the parent company of Mineralogy in Singapore, Mineralogy International Pte Ltd, would take an option over all of the refinery’s assets. We need to do a lot of heavy lifting to get the refinery reopened and we anticipate, subject to the State Government’s assistance with the port issue, that we will have it opened by late 2020 early 2021,’’ he said This is reliant on access to the port being granted immediately so we can commission the restart. The Special Purpose Liquidator (SPL) has released me and all other defendants from all claims and they have also unequivocally withdrawn all allegations against me because they knew they were false,’’ Mr Palmer said. It is vindication for me and all defendants that the Special Purpose Liquidators withdrew all their claims and allegations. Under the executed Settlement Agreement, I have paid all that is owed in employee entitlements, under the Fair Entitlement Guarantee, and to creditors. There is nothing outstanding. Everyone has been paid and yet the Queensland Government continues to stop this major project operating, which would have a major economic benefit on the North Queensland economy’’ he said. Mr Palmer also said it was outrageous that the General Purpose Liquidator (GPL) had made further bogus claims for political purposes. It’ is in the interests of the people of Townsville and the North Queensland economy that this project is opened. North Queensland desperately needs jobs and we have a high resolve and commitment to the people of North Queensland to provide them,’’ Mr Palmer said. ENDS

22.01.2022 I’m making my helicopter & pilot available in sydney for rescue in any way during the national fire crisis. I’m also asking other people with private helicopter...s to assist in this matter too. I also have large sea vessels that I’ll readily make available to move people away from beaches in harms way. The government needs to take greater leadership and immediately deploy all army and navy during this crisis. Thinking of all those affected praying for you all.

22.01.2022 Townsville it is time for a change. Good Luck to Greg in your campaign to make Townsville Great Again.

21.01.2022 Palmer supporting Jenny Hill as ex-mayor of Townsville Clive Palmer has described Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill’s outburst that independent candidate Greg Dowling could face jail time if he did not properly declare donations as desperate bullying tactics. It is ironic that Mayor Jenny Hill is making these outrageous claims, considering she recently had to pay me a $50,000 settlement for defamation.... I have decided to donate that money to Greg Dowling’s campaign to become the new Mayor of Townsville because I believe there is no better person for the job,’’ Mr Palmer said. Everybody knows that this Labor council under Jenny Hill has devastated Townsville. There are no jobs, crime is on the rise and there is no sustainable water policy. Jenny Hill does not care about the people of Townsville, she only answers to her Labor mates in the city,’’ Mr Palmer said. The only position Jenny Hill should be running for is the ex-mayor of Townville, for which she has my full support,’’ he said.

21.01.2022 Hanson needs to make up her mind Pauline Hanson needed to stop flip flopping on preference deals and put Australia’s best interests before her own, Clive Palmer said today. Pauline Hanson should give herself an uppercut for creating uncertainty when Australians need stability more than ever.... Mr Palmer said the only way to take Queensland forward was to ensure the ALP was defeated at the State Election. Everybody knows that Labor destroys wealth and living conditions for everyday Australians,’’ Mr Palmer said. The Labor Government is just sharp-shooting with Shifty Shorten’s old policies, which are dragging Queensland backwards. Labor only cares about people in the city, it’s time for change,’’ he said. 19.01.2022 See the latest on Richo & Jones with Clive Palmer after he has secured Hydroxychloroquine to be prescribed for free to Australians if required in the treamten of COVID-19. Well done to Mr Palmer on getting this done to benefit all Australians. Sky News Australia

19.01.2022 Background Following the outcome of successful medical trials in China for the treatment of 100 people with COVID-19 by the administration of the drug Hydroxych...loroquine, the UK Government on 13 March 2020 banned the export of Hydroxychloroquine, reserving its supplies for its citizens. On 18 March 2020, it was announced in Brisbane that Clive Palmer had donated $1,000,000 to the RBWH Foundation Coronavirus Action Fund. University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research director Professor David Paterson, who is also an infectious disease physician at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, stated that he had seen two drugs used to treat other conditions able to wipe out the virus in test tubes. He said one of the medications, given to some of the first people to test positive for COVID-19 in Australia, had already resulted in "disappearance of the virus" and complete recovery from the infection. What we want to do at the moment is a large clinical trial across Australia, looking at 50 hospitals, and what we're going to compare is one drug, versus another drug, versus the combination of the two drugs," Prof Paterson said. Hydroxychloroquine is one of those drugs. Mr Palmer confirmed that the Hydroxychloroquine results in treating patients was the main reason he donated $1,000,000 to the trial. Mr Palmer said he was confident the drug would be valuable in saving Australian lives. Prof Paterson said it wasn't a stretch to label the drugs "a treatment or a cure". On 20 March 2020, the results of a French medical trial using Hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID- 19 was released and hailed as a success worldwide. The French Government was offered millions of courses of Hydroxychloroquine by the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi to treat its citizens. Hydroxychloroquine is used in China and France for the treatment of COVID- 19. On 21 March 2020, President Trump of the United States of America approved the use of Hydroxychloroquine for US patients. The drug company Bayer offered tens of millions of doses of Hydroxychloroquine to the US Government. Media Release: Palmer agrees to fund the manufacture or acquisition of over 1,000,000 courses of Hydroxychloroquine for Australians Clive Palmer has appointed Brisbane pharmacist Jeremey Sheridan to lead the effort to oversee the large-scale manufacturing of Hydroxychloroquine in Australia and the acquisition of the drug as soon as possible. Mr Sheridan stated in Brisbane today: While the clinical trials in Australia in 50 hospitals may take four to five months to complete it is important that arrangements for the large-scale manufacture or acquisition of Hydroxychloroquine proceed quickly so that there will be no delay making a successful treatment available to all Australians as soon as possible. We cannot wait. To delay now could cost Australian lives in the coming months. We cannot wait to start the process of large-scale acquisition of the drug. When the drug is required it needs to be available,’’ Mr Sheridan said. Clive Palmer confirmed last Friday he had discussions with Health Minster Greg Hunt and other ministers and members of the Australian Government, as well as senior officials of the Health Department, to cut through any red tape that would delay an immediate response to ensure that all Australians would have access to the drug as soon as possible. Mr Palmer stated that he had agreed to personally fund the acquisition or manufacture of over 1,000,000 courses of Hydroxychloroquine and to make it available to the government to be placed on the National Health Stockpile for the free use of Australians affected by COVID- 19. Mr Palmer confirmed that would result in over 30,000,000 doses being placed in the National Health Stockpile. The first 1,000,000 courses will be the first step to ensure that all Australians regardless of their financial circumstances will have access to Hydroxychloroquine as soon as possible,’’ Mr Palmer said. We are proceeding as fast as we can to initiate the manufacturing process in Australia, I have a strong commitment not to let the community down. I will spend whatever it takes and do the best that I can to ensure that when the time comes, we as Australians can respond to the challenge that faces us all. At this time of national crisis in our country, all Australians must do whatever they can to help their fellow Australians,’’ Mr Palmer said. There are many other Australians beside me that can provide financial support necessary to allow our medical resources to be deployed in the shortest possible time to save lives. I want all Australians who have done well in this country to remember their fellow Australians and the sacrifices that have been made by previous generations and dig deep to support all efforts necessary to defeat this threat to our lives,’’ he said. The director of the Gold Coast medical centre Dr Reza Madah has been appointed as medical advisor to assist the effort. Dr Reza Madah said: We need more Australians like Clive Palmer who understand the urgency and the challenges facing the nation and for Australians to come forward and to commit whatever they can in the fight against COVID- 19 and supporting the medical and research community. The urgency of the situation cannot be left to Government alone, we need quick decisions and the timely commitment of funds and resources. Mr Palmer thanked Minister Hunt and the Australian Government for their support and all they had done and would do to make Australia independent to facilitate the acquisition and manufacture of drugs necessary to treat COVID-19 in the shortest possible time. The Commonwealth Health Department was assisting in ensuring that Australia’s high standards are maintained in the process,’’ Mr Palmer said. When asked if he was concerned about the millions of dollars he was committing to fight COVID-19 may not achieve all that he hoped, Mr Palmer said: If we are wrong, I lose some money but if we are right we may save the lives of thousands of our citizens. Australia must move now with urgency.

17.01.2022 Virgin bid is political grandstanding: Palmer Clive Palmer has labelled the Queensland Government’s bid to buy a stake in Virgin Australia as nothing more than political grandstanding. The leader of Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party has slammed the idea, saying that if the Queensland Labor Government was serious about jobs it should allow Queensland Nickel access to the Port of Townsville.... How could this government run an airline when it has done such a terrible job running Queensland? Mr Palmer said. This is nothing more than political grandstanding,’’ he said. If the Palaszczuk Government really cared about jobs and a strong economic future for Queenslanders, there are as many as 3000 jobs ready to go with the reopening of Queensland Nickel, which would cost her nothing, Mr Palmer said. Mr Palmer said Queensland Nickel was only seeking from the Port Authority the same terms and conditions for a new lease that had been successfully operating for 20 years previously. The Queensland Labor government refuses to allow access to the port it owns and controls while the people of North Queensland suffer,’’ Mr Palmer said. This government doesn’t care about the people it represents. It doesn’t care about the thousands of jobs that could be created and it doesn’t care about the businesses that are going under without the economic stimulus that the refinery would provide the region. Labor needs to exercise its authority to approve all terms and conditions to renew the port leases and create real jobs, instead of grandstanding about buying airlines, Mr Palmer said. ENDS

13.01.2022 Media release: Townsville Port Authority using Brisbane lawyers: Palmer QNI Resources Chairman Clive Palmer has strongly criticized the Townsville Port Authority for engaging Brisbane lawyers instead of spending its money locally.... I find it astonishing that the Townsville Port Authority used Brisbane lawyers to draft leases imposing additional conditions for the nickel refinery which would make it impossible to restart and employ North Queenslanders,’’ Mr Palmer said. It seems the Port Authority is not interested in providing work for Townsville lawyers or supporting Townsville jobs. The Townsville Port Authority should be required to give its commercial work to Townsville businesses and cease the practice of sending its work to Brisbane consultants and lawyers. Mr Palmer said Townsville was doing it tough enough already and didn’t need the Port Authority to make it worse. This is just like the stadium that was built by Brisbane workers. It seems even public officials elected by the people of Townsville follow the direction of their masters in Brisbane. It is a disgrace, they should all be sacked,’’ Mr Palmer said. ENDS

10.01.2022 Its at times like this is great to see great Australians dig deep to support Australians and others around the world. We look forward to positive outcomes from these trials that can commence immediately with the donation made by Clive Palmer.

10.01.2022 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

08.01.2022 Palmer responds to misleading statements by Port Authority TOWNSVILLE: QNI Resources Chairman Clive Palmer today responded to misleading statements by the Townsville Port Authority. The simple fact is that the Port of Townsville has not at any time offered our companies a renewal of a lease on the same terms and conditions as the current leases which expire in 2024,’’ Mr Palmer said.... The Port and the State Government seek to add additional conditions to port leases to penalise the refinery operations and to make it difficult or impossible to reopen while at the same time pretending they support jobs and growth in Townsville. Mr Palmer has called on the Townsville Port Authority to renew the leases under the exact same terms and conditions that has allowed the refinery to operate for decades and employ thousands of North Queenslanders. The Special Purpose Liquidator appointed by the Commonwealth of Australia has withdrawn all allegations made against me and our companies because they were simply the lies of the political mafia that runs and holds back Townsville,’’ Mr Palmer said. Mr Palmer confirmed he intended to write to all the people living in Townsville to explain the position because it affected them and their children’s aspirations and they need to know the truth. The Minister for Transport should resign his office before he is defeated at the next election. He never met with me,’’ Mr Palmer said. The elected state members, the Transport Minister and the Premier have all refused to meet with me or any of our executives. They don’t care about Townsville’s future, just their own jobs. They have no responsibility or accountability at all,’’ Mr Palmer said. Our operation was the largest private employer in North Queensland and still provides 60 jobs in Townsville today. We were the largest user of the Townsville Port. The Townsville Port continuously seeks money from the taxpayer to give cushy jobs to its employees while Townsville is economically devastated. The State Government and the Port Authority need to change their attitudes. If the people of Townsville are happy with how Townsville is progressing, if they believe it is all it could be then there is nothing to be concerned about. But if they, like me, aspire to a better future and growing prosperity they should demand changes for a better future for their families,’’ Mr Palmer said. ENDS
