25.01.2022 **** First Aid Help Hints**** D is for Danger. Address anything that can hurt you before you assess the patient. R is Response. Follow the C.O.W.S technique, Can you hear me,Open your eyes,Whats your name, Squeeze both my hands.If the patient fails these four steps, you can safety assume that the person is unconscious.... S is for Send for Help. Call 000 or (112 only from a mobile phone) You can use this number internationally. A is for Airway. Check inside the patients mouth for airway obstructing material ie Vomit, Blood,Food. Remove material, wear gloves. B is for Breathing. See if the patients chest is rising and falling. this is a good indicator that the patient may be breathing. C is for Compressions or CPR. 30:2 (Compressions to Breaths) at a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute. D is for Defibrillator. This is also called a AED. Having one of these items can increase the persons survival rate(with CPR) to approx 90%. Hope you find this helpful. Thanks John

04.01.2022 **** Drug Fact**** John Stith Pemberton (Pharmacist)1831-1888 Born-Knoxville Georgia United States Founder of Coca Cola. Injuried at the "Battle of Colubus" in the Civil War.... Due to several injuries surstained, he soon turn to Morphine to relief the pain. John soon became addicted to Morphine, started to experiment with Cocaine to overcome his Morphine addiction and in 1886 come up with the ingredients for Coca Cola. In 1891 approx 9 milligrams of Cocaine was used per glass of Coca Cola. In 1903 all Cocaine was removed due to health risks. See more

02.01.2022 **** First Aid Helpful Hints **** Snake Bites: (PIT)Pressure Immobilisation Technique. This process is to be used when bitten by either a Snake, Funnel Web Spider, Blue-Ringed Octopus or a Cone Shell. Place Non-Adherent bandage on the bite site first.Then wrap bitten area next with Pressure Bandage.Then from fingers or Toes upwards. Keep patient calm and call 000. Have a productive and safe 2019.
