24.01.2022 OZVENTURE UPDATE - PLEASE READ This post is a summary of what has happened tonight, and is intended to keep everyone updated. This evening, when registration opened for #OzVenture2021, a malicious computer attack brought the online system down.... Subsequently, registration was delayed while the issue was resolved. A new link to sign up was provided at 7:00pm. However, due to a technical glitch, the travel section and dropdown boxes in the registration system were affected. The OzVenture2021 Team made the decision to shut down the system, and registrations are expected to open again 6PM 02/03/2020. If you had started your application, the information entered and your expedition spot will be held. The OzVenture Team apologises for the inconvenience caused, but would like to remind everyone that volunteer teams are working to resolve the issue. Please share this post around and tag anyone who may be affected.
24.01.2022 Scouts | Terrain, our new digital system, is launching from late July! In Scouting, we are challenged to cross the mountain range. To explore the variety of po...ssibilities, communities and adventures that the wide terrain of the youth Program offers. We all have a unique journey across the terrain of Scouting. Scouts | Terrain is a specially designed tool which challenges Scouts to explore new adventures, to try new things, and to seek new pathways. As a word, it describes the place we do Scouting. As a tool, Scouts | Terrain supports us to experience the Program. https://bit.ly/explorescoutsterrain

05.01.2022 There have been a number of questions lately regarding our current situation and achieving the Queens Scout Award. Please be assured that we are continually working on ways for this to happen. The below extract is from the Chief's Newsletter today and will hopefully answer some of these questions. If you have any further question please feel free to email [email protected] Considering the current COVID-19 situation, a Venturer Scout who is working or not e...nrolled at school and is due to turn 18 between now and the end of 2020, will be granted an extension to remain in Venturers until the 31 December 2020. This is in line with those Venturer Scouts who turn 18 and are still in Year 12. A Venturer Scout who meets these guidelines will still need to apply for an extension to remain involved with the Unit and must be actively working towards completing the Queen’s Scout Award and following the rules set by Health and other government authorities. They should be completing any research or planning so that when the current restrictions are lifted, they will be able to quickly complete the physical aspects required. Work is currently being undertaken to convert the current Unit Management Course and Leadership Course into ‘online’ courses. When these details are finalised, they will be released to everyone. As is usual practice, Venturer Scout Units must support Venturer Scouts working towards their Queens Scout Award during this time. Meetings and face-to-face activities can be held using virtual/online opportunities to complete activities. This includes activities such as working with other units to conduct debates, having guest speakers online to discuss multiculturalism, disabilities, cultures, heritage etc. We are only limited by our imaginations at this time, with a bit of creative thinking you might be able to identify a different way of doing things. This situation will be reviewed in September regarding future arrangements. It is hoped all expeditions planned by Venturer Scouts will able to be completed within the extended time frame See more
