25.01.2022 Cheers to the big random mess!!

25.01.2022 Even being organised and having everything at your fingertips can’t fix this.

24.01.2022 Wardrobe Goals! Imagine loving all your clothes. I get my girls to go through their clothes every 6 months ( they grow quick) and although I do get the final decision, ( keep the school uniforms ) I try hard to let them make decisions about what they love. Even my two year old can Konmari her clothes!

24.01.2022 Today’s client was gifted a voucher and decided to use it to clear out her wardrobe. We had loads of fun and cleared 4 crates of clothes that didn’t make her feel amazing. Tried out some folding ideas to create more space in her drawers and now she can see everything at once. Some before and afters below.

24.01.2022 Sometimes, less stuff can make a world of difference

15.01.2022 When you go to playgroup and can’t help but Queens of Clutter the toy storage room.

14.01.2022 Sometimes it really takes guts to make a phone call. We often have clients who are a bit nervous about us coming into their homes because they are embarrassed about the mess or whatever. This lady said I don’t want to scare you. I reassured her that this was what we did and made an appointment. When I got to the front door she said, I won’t blame you if you turn around and run. I reassured her I wasn’t going anywhere. ... This gorgeous grandma has a complicated relationship with stuff. She has so much of it and sees the value and the possibility in everything. Unfortunately, this outlook has filled her house with so many possibilities it had become almost unlivable. She called us for help and we came. I can’t imagine how terrifying the thought of us coming over must have been. I believe even family had not been inside the home for a few years. Over a few weeks we worked with another family member ( with the clients supervision and consent) to return the house to a state where she could comfortably move around. It is going to be a long journey but we are so glad she called us. If you or a loved one struggle with with too much stuff, Don’t be scared to call us. We won’t run.

12.01.2022 We often have people contact us that are anxious about their homes. They want help but are too embarrassed to have someone come around. Please know that we have seen it all and are here to help. The relief at the end is worth it

11.01.2022 Today’s repeat client gets a brain block when it comes to paperwork and didn’t know where to start. I love paper and together we sorted the piles and gave her a simple system moving forward. We even had time left over to sort some crates of books. Loving this empty cupboard left over.

10.01.2022 The battle of the toy room! How much time and energy do you waste telling the kids to tidy the toy room/bedroom?(& end up doing most of it yourself) The trick to kids doing it themselves is to make it as EASY as possible. ... Tubs or storage boxes are great for this reason. Separate the toys into groups and each group gets its own box. Cars/trucks, dolls, soft toys, doll house furniture etc. This is what we did today for this play room. Too many toys meant it was a never ending battle to fit them in boxes and keep the room tidy. We separated all the toys into groups and the client decided what to bin, what to pass along and what stayed. The fewer toys that remained easily fit into the storage that she already had. And (hopefully ) it will be much easier for her girls to pack the toys away. The client also had the great idea to move the doll house (which was rarely used) onto the desk so it’s at a perfect play height for her girls

06.01.2022 Who can relate?!?!

06.01.2022 This client just didn’t know where to start in the family study. Paper, books, photos and the dreaded teaching resources . 3 hours later the floor was clear and lots of containers and drawers were empty. We had a system sorted out and the client was on a roll. The after photos are still on their way.

04.01.2022 Sounds like interesting research ...

03.01.2022 How are your school holidays going? . . .

02.01.2022 Hello again! After a bit of a covid enforced break we are back with our lovely clients! This family is looking forward to a kitchen reno and a possible house move so we worked on making the space a bit more user friendly. Ditching or donating never or rarely used items cleared enough space to make everything fit like a dream (with some space left over )

01.01.2022 Today’s job was one we have been talking about for months so it was exciting to finally get to do it! This study is being used for full time work at home since Covid and to run the household. There were lots of half finished projects and items that needed homes. We gave each of the projects a space and now our client is inspired to start crossing them off the list.
