25.01.2022 ‘Create with purpose’- Quirky Queens

25.01.2022 These two Queens are back at it again setting up some beautiful sunny sunshine sunflower goodness for today's Sun Shower 02 - Warehouse Day Party feat. Brian Fantana Just a massive reminder to those attending these events that a lot of love, time and effort goes into creating, painting and crafting the decorations and artwork. We do not appreciate graffiti on art work that people have invested time and effort into. Please be respectful of what is being created.... We definitely want you to enjoy yourself but it's not necessary to tag something that someone has created in any way shape or form. Party Safe kids

17.01.2022 Meet the Queens Storm Nutting 23 years old She loves everything that’s oddly beautiful and beautiful odd... "After moving from the Gold Coast 3 years ago with very little knowledge about Melbourne and not a lot of people to connect with, I was excited and optimistic, I made the decision to say yes to every opportunity that may come my way. I found Day Spa 2 months into my Melbourne journey, I was invited to Pawn & Co to make some connections and it just so happened that same weekend was when Day Spa was starting up. A weekly party that was different each week, from the dress ups to the decor plus amazing vibe and music!? I was truly hooked! It was a wonderland compared to what I was used to on the GC. After a season of punting, I actually landed a styling gig with Day Spa, dressing a handful of crew members in theme, weekly. I was ecstatic to be apart of such an awesome movement. A few weeks after I found myself styling the event with the wonder woman herself Jenny Wong.. and that's where it all began. I've always been super passionate about styling, whether its fashion or interior and now events.. I love applying my skills to the best of my ability. Im a perfectionist i'll admit, but I believe it resonates in the work I do and how I execute jobs. Over the past 2 years I've worked and volunteered in the events industry so I really appreciate the opportunities that have come my way and am super excited for what is yet to come. I really appreciate the journey that i'm on. I hold creativity very close to my heart. I rely on it to keep sane." PHOTOGRAPH BY: Because_Aurora DAY SPA : SURREALIST SPA SEASON 3 LAUNCH

05.01.2022 Meet the Queens : Jenny Wong 28 years old She loves everything colourful, bold & beautifully wonky. ... When I was first asked to work on a project for themed events 4 years ago, I was juggling full time work and found this side job to be a mini passion project. I was given a minimal budget, a very small time frame of hours to create a vision and set up this party. When the first party was a huge success with every corner of the venue turned into a spooky barnyard style look I realised that this was exactly what I wanted to do. Create wonderful events & bring these events to life ! It took 4 years of building up a portfolio of paid and unpaid volunteer work to get to where I am now. But I wouldn’t change anything for the position I am in and what the future holds ! I've always loved set design, prop design and costume design coming from a dancing and musical theatre/drama background. But I also enjoy experiencing the outdoor festival vibe where lights, whacky art, bizarre bold and beautiful stages with blasting disco, house or techno music steals my little raving heart everytime I escape out of Melbourne. Bringing a little slice of that experience into everyweek has been such a little blessing. I'm a very lucky gal ‘This world needs a lot more colour and a whole lot more Quirk’.
