24.01.2022 Vertigo is a type of dizziness that feels like you are spinning, or that the room is spinning around you. For more information head into QSP for a chat with our physiotherapists about your vertigo, or visit: www.queenstphysio.com.au/vertigo-and-bppv

22.01.2022 A common complaint we get from people in the clinic is foot pain. This may be in the form of burning through the arches of the feet in the morning, heel pain when pressure is applied, or aching throughout the foot. The most common cause for such foot pain is a condition called Plantar fasciitis. For more information on Plantar fasciitis and how you hamstrings could be involved - check out our blog :) https://www.queenstphysio.com.au/__trashed/?v=13b249c5dfa9

11.01.2022 Sadly the infamous noosa triathlon has been cancelled this year. There are still plenty of upcoming events to attend in Queensland this month, including the Hervey Bay 100, the second race in the Bribie triathlon series and the Gold Coast triathlon. Overuse injuries can be harrowing and frustrating for endurance athletes. Injury prevention strengthening and solid biomechanics is key for eliminating these niggles from your training regime. Visiting your favourite physio for a biomechanical review or some soft tissue release as you lead into the event can be hugely beneficial. For a few tips on reducing your triathlon injury rates visit www.queenstphysio.com.au/triathletes-and-injury/

07.01.2022 Today is world arthritis day! Arthritis causes inflammation in the joint which can make joints feel painful and stiff. Generally arthritis involves wear and tear of the cartilage, and eventually the bone, in the joint. The most common types are osteoarthritis (cause by compression and overuse in the joint) and rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease that attacks the cartilage). The best strategies for management include maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active, healthy eating and pain management techniques. Arthritis worsens with age so the sooner you seek help from a healthcare team the better. For up to date information please visit Arthritis National Research Foundation at http://curearthritis.org/wad/
