When sales are down a lot of people focus their efforts on trying to bring new customers through the door. A lot of money may get spent in print ads, radio, tv and PPC advertising online. However many do not think about the most valuable asset their business already has, the qualified customer. Spending money and time to look after those who have or are spending money in your business is a solid marketing foundation as you are marketing to a group of people who already know your product and are willing to buy what you sell. So next time you are looking at spending money on new business make sure you also look at ways you can better market to the business you already have.

13.01.2022 I know I have not been doing a lot of posts of late, mainly due to Internet issues here, however if you have been reading and implementing what I have been posting you should be seeing results. What I post in regards to marketing is based on things I am implementing on a daily basis for a client of mine. I started at the beginning of October and so far in November our traffic is up 53%. The site I am working on is a well established eCommerce site, so this is quite a substantial growth. I will aim to get back to regular posting from tomorrow. I have lots more I have done and should share.

12.01.2022 Gee. I just looked at this and noticed I did not post a thing at all last year. This will change in 2015. In 2014 a lot changed with Quench Media and my personal marketing knowledge has been greatly expanded. In 2015 I intend to let you in on what I have learnt as well as let you know about the projects we are working on. Did you know in 2013 as a single operator business we worked on an average of 3 to 4 projects a month. Currently we are working on over 20 projects, so a lot has changed.

10.01.2022 TODAYS TIP: Little Things that say thanks. This is a bit of a step away from my normal Online marketing posts, but something worth posting none the less. A company I do a lot of work with has a policy where every order they ship contains a small bag of lollies. Nothing major, fairly simple thing to do. However you would no believe the amount of comments they receive about these lollies. When people call up they talk about fighting over the lollies, if an order goes out without them to a returning customer you certainly know about it. A very simple thing to do, yet it can make such a difference. What are you doing for your customers to say thanks for their order, and to show you care?

10.01.2022 WEEKLY MARKETING TIP: Your Customers are more important then Google. If you focus only or primarily on SEO when marketing a website you may build traffic, yet fail to make sales. If you focus your efforts on your Customers by providing better content, easier navigation, social interaction and regular communication then your site will naturally improve its SEO ranking, giving you longer term results which will not be affected by Google updates set to target "Get Hits Quick Schemes" often employed by SEO businesses. #NaturalSEO #GetHitsQuickScheme

09.01.2022 TODAYS TIP: Ethical SEO. When it comes to SEO I have always said it is best to do things honest and ethically, rather then going for the SEO schemes that promise the world. Recently Google made changes to its algorithm, which had a huge impact on many sites which were using SEO services that appeared ethical, but the link building nature exploited weaknesses in Googles Search Engine. This has now been patched and has cost many sites lots of traffic. I know of several companies who have lost more then half of their traffic due to these changes. 06.01.2022 TODAYS TIP: Email Marketing - With the world of Social Media, it seems email marketing is playing a lesser and lesser role in Marketing methods of today. Why purchase a mailing solution and send bulk emails when you can instantly message your customers through Social Media? The answer is simple. Not everyone has a Social Media account and with everyone now on Social Media your posts disappear quickly. As long as people have asked to receive emails from you, then you shou...ld make sure you send emails to them on a consistent basis. How often this should be you can only truly gauge through how many people unsubscribe when you send. A better solution would be to allow people to tell you how often they want to receive emails. I highly recommend using a service like mail chimp for sending emails as it will provide you with the ability to create and send emails fairly easily, as well as maintain your list. See more

05.01.2022 TODAYS TIP: Mail Chimp & Magento. Now this is only really good for the Magento users, however if you run an ecommerce store that is out of date, it may be time to upgrade. There is a free plugin available for Magento which integrates with MailChimp & ManDrill and it is awesome. Once hooked up you will be able to sync your mailing lists, have mailchimp handle your regular site emails, but the best part of it all is the automated mail functions included. The system allows y...ou to automatically send an email to a customer when they look at a product, abandon their shopping cart, after they buy a product, when they have a birthday and a whole lot more.
