04.01.2022 Case Study 1 The Grilled Gecko Cafe Summary... Being a small family owned and operated business, The Grilled Gecko was a great local seaside cafe with good local customers. However being in a tourist location they saw an opportunity to capture not only local customer data but visiting customers also. The Challenge Tony the owner was already offering his clients free Wifi but giving them the password. The problem here was there was no way to track the visitor information or how many people had the password. Also they had a concern with giving customers the password would open the network to possible hackers and people using the Wifi out of normal business hours. Tony was worried that he would need to spend a lot of money to upgrade his Wifi network. Solution Tony spoke with our team at Quick-app Wifi to see how we could help. We did a site survey and quickly realised the cafe didnt need a WIF overall, with a simple plug and play router, We were able to turn his existing Wifi into a social Wifi portal. Now Tony didnt need to give out his password any more and was now collecting value social data. With the Marketing router we set up some visit based automations for the Grilled Gecko including TripAdvisor reviews , Google and facebook reviews based on the customer visit number. Results: Data collected The Grilled gecko now has a data base of over 700 Names and emails Tripadvisor results started at Number 38 on Tripadvisor now number 1 and 2 in local and has over 170 4-5 star reviews. Google reviews started with Zero now has over 70 4-5 star reviews 100 % Automation The grilled Gecko can now send emails and text messages to clients on the fly to promote specials and offers to drive traffic on the slow days. All for less than a coffee per day.
