25.01.2022 Want to stretch those city legs and soak in some stunning scenery, Mount Observation is a great spot for the whole family to explore during your next Quiet Escape! This Mundaring gem is located a leisurely 29 minute drive from our cottages but is so well worth as it boasts forest as far as the eye can see. There are a few tracks around the area or you can walk around the one-way loop road. As well as enjoying the wandoo landscape this is a great vantage point to spot wedge-tail eagles riding the thermals. A track near the centre of the loop will also lead you about 200m down to a bird hide. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables here, a couple of BBQs, and toilets (long drop). Bring your water bottle and, no dogs are allowed.

19.01.2022 Araluen Botanical Park is located in the Darling Ranges in Roleystone. Enjoy the scenic drive through Pickering Brook to get a real feel for the county side. Every season at Araluen is special so enjoy a wander on your winter getaway with Quiet Escapes. Araluen is now open to the public Saturday and Sunday's from 9am - 4pm.

19.01.2022 Want to bring the kids along on your Quiet Escapes holiday! Stay in our Oak Tree Cottage and visit the Karakamia Sanctuary, It's only a quick 18 minute drive away. A beautiful nature reserve located 4 km from Chidlow. It is located within the Jarrah forest of the Darling Scarp and is owned and managed by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy. Karakamia Sanctuary has managed to exclude exotic predators and herbivores, and a vermin-proof fence now surrounds the property. Various native mammals that would have occurred there in the past have been successfully reintroduced. These include the woylie, quenda, tammar wallaby, quokka, numbat and western ringtail possum. A significant bird present there is the forest subspecies of the red-tailed black-cockatoo. Open Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm
