01.01.2022 Every now and then someone brings treasure in for our opinions and admiration. Today Jan and Mary brought these two delightful #hexagon quilts made by Mary’s mother Emily. Using remnants from the clothes she made to dress her 7 children and scraps given from friends there is a wide history of fabric, both designs and materials. Dresses, tops, school uniforms... Emily made many of these quilts for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Jan’s quilt has been... well loved and is returning to life as she patiently mends the worn spots (blue background). Mary has finished her mum’s last quilt continuing to use scraps from the 70s and 80s.
