23.01.2022 All about the Village Quilt along. Moda Fabrics have made the Village Quilt Pattern available free of charge to encourage quilters to join together and create our own villages to keep each other supported during this time of social isolation. I am encouraging you to join me in my mission to make our very own Village Quilt. If you could spare the time to make just one block from the pattern available, make it in whatever fabrics you desire, personalise it with machine or hand ...embroidery, make it unique to reflect you, and pass it on to me, I will get it put together, quilted and bound. I aim to display the quilt in several public installations to share our united approach to being socially isolated yet still keeping our community in mind. It will then be donated to a charitable organisation yet to be determined. I will post my house block later this week. To test the pattern I have made up blocks by using one charm pack, a half metre of background fabric and some small scraps. I have enough blocks to make three small crib quilts for the Llyell McEwin Hospital. You could do the same with a charm pack you already have at home, or even with scraps. I hope you will join in!
