02.01.2022 A huge thank you to Jenny Stokes and her team of quilters at Quilts for Orphans who have donated 26 quilts to Benwerren. We look forward to being able to gift some to our families as well as have them be a welcoming comfort in our rooms.
01.01.2022 QFO is BACK post COVID-19 ISO! As of 1st of June, QFO is permitted as a community group to recommence operations. I acknowledge this has been the weirdest and most troublesome time for us all. However, those on a higher pay grade than me say it is safe to step outside our homes and start to find the new normal. So here we go ladies! When you feel comfortable to return, QFO is ready to welcome you back to the Hall. I think to smile, laugh and sew together again is surely the ...best antidote for QFO wellbeing as I’m sure for many of us personally too! The Hall is large enough (1 to the ratio of 4sq meters) to permit 29 people but for the time being only 20 are allowed. Jenny, Christine and Yvonne will be on site preparing quilts in various stages of production as well as turning the training wheel on the Gammill. Feel free to stop by to deliver quilt tops, select fabrics to take home, or stay to lend a hand. This will be a great way for you to return to the fold especially if you are not ready to attend a full Gathering Day. Remember Jenny’s recent suggestion to help with registration * Please make a label using a plain piece of fabric, pinned to the corner of quilt top with your name, quilt dimensions and date. The label stays with the quilt through the production process right up to when the quilt is finally gifted. Note QFO preferred quilt top sizes: Single 55x 75 Cot 35x 45 Gathering Day 13th June (9.30 am to 3 pm) Let’s do it! The heaters and the urn will be on ready for a warm day of socialising and sewing albeit at a safe distance! Please contact me if you have any thoughts or questions about returning to the new normal! Many thanks Deb Deborah Woodward 0409 192 514 QFO Vice President QFO Exhibitions & Markets
