24.01.2022 On Wednesday evening we celebrated our Kinder graduation. The children opened the the ceremony by singing Niina Marni welcome and then received their graduation certificate followed by a hand shake. It was nice catching up with the families afterwards enjoying some nibbles. Congratulations to all the graduates and all the best on your new adventure at school !

22.01.2022 The Pre Kinder children planted some tomato plants into pots that have been placed in the service entrance. They enjoyed examining the leaves and flowers on the seedlings, recognising symbols on the care label and participating in all aspects of planting them, especially getting their hands dirty! We look forward to watching our tomato plants growing and picking some yummy cherry tomatoes in summer. These nature play experiences build on the children's connections to the natural environment and embed sustainable practices and philosophies. EYLF OUTCOME 2: Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment NQF QA3.2.3 ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE: The service cares for the environment and supports children to become environmentally responsible.

20.01.2022 Today in the Kinder room we explored living and non living to promote and develop responding to change and to respect people, animals and the environment. We began by searching for live bugs outside, we searched high and low, in trees and dug in the sandpit, unfortunately we think the rain may have scared all the bugs away. Next, we engaged with two educational videos about sustainability and our Earth and insects within it. The children then engaged with two provocation tabl...es, one displaying pictures of a healthy lake and a dry lake, a living rain forest and a non living rain forest as the children determined which one was which based on observations. The next provocation table had an array of non living and living things such as leaves in various stages, bugs, a shark egg, a plastic plant, real shells and plastic shells. The children used the magnifying glass to investigate and determine which one is which. Lastly, we discussed if we prefer things to be living or non living and brainstormed ways we could take care of each other, the animals and environment. See more

17.01.2022 Today we had some lovely visitors. They were the Barking Gecko, Blue Tongue Skink, Bearded Dragon, Spencer Monitor and the Eastern Water Dragon. As you can see... the children loved the interactive approach with the reptiles. They watched with integrity, they listened with enthusiasm and handled with a gentle approach. Some children just stayed back far enough to feel safe yet still close enough to see what they looked liked. Who has reptiles at their homes ? What do they eat ? What did you call them ? We would love to see a picture... feel free to post below so we can show the children what we have in our local community. See more
