19.01.2022 TEMPORARY CLOSURE - EMERGENCIES ONLY These are indeed difficult times for everyone and particularly for those of us whose services may be deemed important but "non-essential". As a result of increasing measures to contain the COVID-19 virus, and in line with Optometry Australia recommendations, we will be closing our practice effective close of business Friday 27 March 2020 while still making optometrists available "on-call" for emergencies only. If you think you require ur...gent assistance, please call the practice on 03 5382 1429. Calls will be diverted to one of our "on-call" team members and patients will be triaged to determine the urgency of the care required. We are still deeply committed to optimising eye health in the community we care so much about however, we also recognise the need to do our part in this national effort. We look forward to welcoming back all our patients and customers at a time when there is more certainty for all of us. All the best and stay safe from everyone here at Quinn & Co. Eyecare.

05.01.2022 FULL SERVICES RESUMED 18/05/20 - BOOK AN EYE TEST TODAY! In this ever changing COVID-19 environment, we’re open to a new way of caring for your eyes by caring even more about social distancing and hygiene. Our primary concern has always been for our patients and customers, so to keep everyone safe, we have put in place 3 important guidelines in line with the advice of our governing bodies. ... Please read them carefully because they will help safeguard our whole community. 1) Hygiene this is everyone’s number one priority and we’ll be adhering to all recommended precautions and protocols including using face masks during consultations, regularly cleaning frames and surfaces, making hand sanitisers available and asking basic screening questions around how you’re feeling so as to reduce the risk of spreading illness. 2) We are consulting with patients on an appointment basis only for all services including eye exams, frame repairs/adjustments, collection of new glasses/contact lenses and all other purchases. This will help comfortably maintain social distancing which is critical. So please remember, until further notice, you will need an appointment to be seen. 3) Opening hours and optometrist availability to help manage the number of people in our practice we’ve also staggered optometrists’ availability. Our current opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm. Please phone us for further details. We look forward to seeing you and helping you to see well, live well in style. See you soon!

02.01.2022 We are raising awareness for National Diabetes Week 2020 and urging diabetics to play an active role in their diabetes management in order to prevent diabetic eye related complications which can lead to vision loss and blindness.

01.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update Dear Quinn & Co. Eyecare customers, There is a lot of information circulating in the media regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), and we thought you might be interested in how we are managing risk here and across other Quinn & Co. Eyecare practices.... Firstly, we want to make it very clear that your safety and that of each member of our team is always our first priority. While media and public commentary surrounding Coronavirus continues to raise concerns for the community, public health authorities have not placed any restrictions on how retailers, or any other service providers like ours operate. So, what are we doing? Hygiene and safe practices have always been top of our customer service agenda and way of working so we thought we’d share some of our common, everyday practices as well as what we’re doing now even more proactively. - Cleaning and disinfecting equipment thoroughly before and after use. - Cleaning and disinfecting touched surfaces such as bench tops, door handles and toilet facilities more regularly throughout the day. - Antibacterial wipes and more hand sanitiser will be available throughout Quinn & Co. Eyecare practices. We appreciate your understanding that these additional cleaning measures may mean you have to wait a little longer than usual for your appointment, but be assured we are doing our best to ensure we offer you the timely and efficient service you have come to expect from us. What can you do? The Department of Health recommends the most effective way to mitigate the risk of contracting Coronavirus is to practice good personal hygiene. - Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. - Cover your coughs and sneezes. - If you have any of these symptoms: - fever - cough - sore throat - shortness of breath AND travelled to (including transited through) a country considered to pose a risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission in the 14 days before getting sick OR had close contact with someone diagnosed or suspected of having coronavirus (COVID-19) in the 14 days before getting sick we respectfully ask that you do not attend the practice for 14 days. Please call us and we will happily reschedule your appointment. We will continue to monitor the latest advice from the Department of Health, who are coordinating the statewide response. Thank you, Your Quinn & Co. Eyecare team
