21.01.2022 Did you hear? A light aircraft has crashed in Quinns Rocks... but thankfully, it's only a drill! SES volunteers together with firefighters, cadets and DFES A...ir Operations were among just a few who took part in the multi agency exercise, which involved rescuing and treating casualties, patient transportation and extinguishing fires. The Perth based RAC WA Rescue Helicopter even made a landing on the school oval! Friends and family didn't miss out on the action, taking on the role of on-lookers and casualties complete with special effects makeup. It was great to see some awesome teamwork from everyone! 05.01.2022 Cadets and caregivers, Due to current global events namely the Covid-19 virus and under the direction of DFES all Western Australian emergency service cadet units including the Quinns Rocks Bush Fire cadet unit are suspending activities effective immediately. We apologize for the short notice; this is a highly dynamic situation and we were only advised of the status upgrade this evening. ... This action and the overwhelming media coverage surrounding the virus may cause anxiety amounghst the cadets and the greater community. Several resources may be helpful including unicef.org.au, Department of Health WA . Alternately please feel free to contact Jess or Myself. We will re-assess the situation and provide an update during the Term 1-2 school holidays however any decision will be based on DFES and department of health guidelines. Activity packs and resources will be prepared for the cadets, information on these will be forthcoming. These actions are regrettable however are necessary to protect the venerable within our community. Regards Jess Stewart & Michael Bennett Quinns Rocks Bush Fire Brigade Cadet coordinators
