25.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. Due to the erratic weather last Saturday, Social Bowls was not played. The first of the Christmas Hams mixed bowls will be played this Saturday, December 12. Names to be in by 6 p.m. for a 6.30 p.m. start with Half Hams to the winners. This event is a box draw... Saturday, December 19 the members Christmas party and Thank-you to the Sponsors dinner will be held, commencing from 6 p.m. For catering purposes names need to be in by Wednesday, December 16. There will be a raffle run during the evening. Bingo for this year will break up on Thursday, 17 December and will return on Thursday 7 January 2021 The Badge Draw on Friday night was not won, Gary French not in his Club. The Draw for this Friday will still be $1000 with the lucky number prize in the raffle worth $160. Members are advised that Christmas Hams are included in the raffle. The horse tipping competition was won by Kevin McNamara with 16 points. The jackpot prize is now $300. The 100 x $1.00 Scratchies were won by Ken Ansell. Duty Director this Friday is Robert Sweep. 24.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. This weekend the annual Shaun Hamilton Funerals Open Triples carnival will be held and there has been a great response from local and visiting bowlers for the two-day tournament with all bowlers to observe Covid-19 social distancing. There is $4000 in prizemoney to be won with the carnival commencing at mid-day on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. Five games of fifteen ends each will be played over the two days with the presentations ...to take place around 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Many thanks to greenkeeper Mick Woods for having the greens in such good condition for the carnival and those Directors and volunteers who have worked tirelessly on the surrounds to have the Club looking at its best for this annual event. The cold snap on Saturday afternoon forced most members to have a break from the game but four hardy souls ventured onto the green for a social game where John Vaneekert and Darren Rumbel defeated Josh Redgrove and Matt Stennett 25-16 over twenty-one ends. Members and lady bowlers are advised that nominations for the 2021 Mixed Fours championship close on Saturday, October 10. The Badge Draw on Friday night was not won Phillip Barnett not in the Club. The draw for this Friday will be $1000 again with the lucky number prize in the raffle at $60. The two end-of-month $25 meat voucher draws were won by Neville Ryman and Harvey McVicar respectively. The horse tipping competition was won by Michael Perkins with 16 points. The jackpot prize is now $200. The 100 x $1.00 Scratchies were won by Jo Rumbel. Duty Director this Friday is Robert Gardiner. R Martin/S Musgrave defeated K Ryman/N Martin 19-16, J Lewis/M Pryor defeated A Pryor/N Ryman 22-15 and K Sweep/C Pryor/J Van Eekert defeated F Hamilton/S Walsh/S Kent 22-9. Overall winners on the day was J Van Eekert’s team on 21 points. The first round of the Mixed 4’s kicks off this Saturday from 1pm. M Gileppa/S Walsh/M Tanner/B Hartin play R Martin/N Martin/E Radcliffe/D Radcl...iffe. A Pryor/F Hamilton/C Longfield/J Heaver play K Ryman/C Pryor/N Ryman/S Ryman. J Lewis/W Lee/H Passfield/D Rumbel have a bye and will play the winner of D Radcliffe and R Hartin’s game. K Sweep/F Henderson/ S Henderson/R Sweep also have a bye and will play the winner from the J Heaver and S Ryman game. The final of the Mixed 4’s will be played on Saturday 24 October 2020 from 1pm. Melbourne Cup is only weeks away and we will be having our Melbourne Cup Day at the Bowlo again this year. 21.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. Our October Triples Carnival was held last weekend in good weather. By all accounts the greens ran well and everyone had an enjoyable weekend with old mates catching up and new friendships being made. It was great to see some new faces in the Club and the spectators had a good time as well. There are far too many volunteers to thank for the effort that was put in following up and during the weekend and we thank them so much because withou...t them the weekend would not have been the success it was. Thank you also to the Bowlers and spectators who travelled to our little town. The results are as follows:- Best Performed on Saturday from Stockton, G Ferguson, D Phillips and T Smith. Best Performed on Sunday, Toronto team S Huff, D, Thompson and G Thompson. Fourth Place goes to Ourimbah’s P Homan, C Wilson and M Cummins. Third went to another Stockton team with B Berlin, B Hitchcock and T Baker. Second place went to L Goodchild, D Williams and K Greentree, a composite team. In First place was Ourimbah team M Brown, T Aldrich & S Balsdon. Congratulations to all winners and we hope to see you back in our Club next year. Bowlers are reminded that nominations are on the board for Mixed 4’s. Nominations will close 1o October with play to commence on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October. 21.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. Very little to report on the bowls activity on the green for the past week with just six players for social bowls on Saturday afternoon. Joanne Lewis, Neil Martin and Sue Kent played Robyn Martin, Sue Musgrave and John Van Eekert with the game ending in a 12-all draw after fourteen ends.... To encourage more bowlers on the green over the next two Saturdays there will be $100 prizemoney for the team finishing first on each day. The events will be mixed box draw, two games of 10 ends with a minimum of twelve players. So come on members come along and support your club! Members are also advised of coming events: Sunday, December 6, 10 a.m. start. Mixed Triples box draw. Three games of 10 ends with alternating format. Prizemoney will be $120 first place, $60 second place and $30 third place. Quirindi Women's Bowling Club is sponsoring the event and the Club thanks President Elaine and her committee for supporting the club in this way. K Ryman/C Pryor/N Ryman & S Ryman defeated A Pryor/F Hamilton/C Longfield & J Heaver 32-12. M Gileppa/S Walsh/M Tanner & B Hartin defeated R Martin/N Martin/E Radcliffe & D Radcliffe 23-14. The next round saw J Lewis/W Lee/H Passfield & D Rumbel play against M Gileppa/S Walsh/M Tanner & B Hartin. D Rumbel’s ...team won 19-14. K Ryman/C Pryor/ M Pryor (sub for N Ryman) and S Ryman played K Sweep/ F Henderson/S Henderson and R Sweep. R Sweep’s team won 22-10. These players showed their dedication to the game by playing in non-stop rain. The Final of the Mixed 4’s will be played this Saturday 24 October at 1.00 pm. The extreme heat over the weekend was not conducive for bowls but seven players turned up for play on Saturday evening and finishing the game under lights. Andy Stackman, Robyn Martin, Neil Martin and Josh Redgrove defeated Andy Stackman, Joanne Lewis, Michael Pryor and John Van Eekert 16-9 over sixteen ends.... Due to the predicted heat-wave conditions for this coming weekend the event for Sunday, December 6, to be sponsored by Quirindi Women’s Bowling Club has now been postponed to a date to be decided. However Mixed Social bowls will be played on Saturday evening to commence at 6.30 p.m. Names need to be in by 6 p.m. There will be prizemoney if more than twelve players nominate. The first of the Christmas Hams mixed bowls will now be played on Saturday, December 12. Names to be in by 6 p.m. for a 6.30 p.m. start with Half Hams to the winners. 15.01.2022 These are the bowlers who keep turning up each week to play social bowls. They really do love their bowls. Margo Gileppa, Andy Stackman, Neil Martin, Sue Musgrave, Robyn Martin, John Vaneekert, Ida Stricken and Sue Kent not in the photo. We had a fun day today and a few nibblies after the game this being our last for the year, we resume again next February. Weekend social bowls is still on. In the second games Andy and Neil defeated Willy and Sue 11-5 and Rob and John defeated Kay and Stephen 13-3.... 13.01.2022 Ladies Bowls Report. Neil and Robyn Martin won their game against Andy Stackman and Margo last week. My apology for getting it wrong. A game of triples and pairs were played on Wednesday September 23. Neil Martin, Ida Stricken and Sharon Walsh played Kay Ryman, Sue Musgrave and John Vaneerkert. This was a very close game. Neil’s team won 14 - 13. Robyn Martin and Andy Stackman scored 18 shots to Margo Gileppa and Sue Kent’s 16 in their pairs game last week.... There is a general meeting on Saturday, October 10. 12.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. The first of the Christmas Hams Mixed Bowls was played last with eight players rolling up. There were two games of 8 ends and by all accounts and judging by the amount of laughter coming form the green, everyone enjoyed themselves. Game 1 saw father and daughter team Christie Pryor and Neville Ryman play Michael Pryor and Steve (Hendo)Henderson with a drawn result of 5 all. Then Andy Stackman and John Van Eekert lost to Kay Ryman and Darre...n Rumbel 5-8. Game 2 had Andy and John defeat Christie and Neville 17-3 and Michael and Hendo won against Kay and Darren 9-6. The winners of the Hams were Hendo and Michael on 24pts, 2nd John and Andy with 19pts, 3rd Darren and Kay on 18pts then Christie and Neville with 11pts. Good close scores folks, well done. This Saturday 19th December there will be Mixed Social Bowls box draw from 3pm with names in by 2.30pm. Sunday, 20 December we have Hams up for grabs again with Mixed Triples Social Bowls, also box draw. Names to be in by 9.30am and play starts at 10am. 10.01.2022 Better late than never. Our Melbourne Cup Day function went off very well. The first pic is of the winners of various prizes. Two punters won the half Trifecta from the tickets purchased with their $30 entry. Other winners were for the best dressed Lady and Gent, best fascinator, best dressed Bogan and lucky door prize. Sandra Martino, Jo Rumbel and Don Radcliffe, in that order, were the winners in the Sweep. All reports and a Thumbs up was a good indication that a enjoyable time was had. A big thank you to Ian Kennett for once again organising the day. We hope to see you all back again next year. We would also like to thank our sponsors, Cheryl Bray from Country Classics, Tamarang Engineering and Rachel Wotzlaw for the loan of the silks and saddle.

09.01.2022 Welcome to this week’s Bowls Report. The final of the 2021 Mixed Fours championship was played on Saturday afternoon and the team of Joann Lewis, Willy Lee and Helen Passfield, skipped by Darren Rumbel defeated Kerry Sweep, Fran and Stephen Henderson and Robert Sweep 25-20. Darren’s team got off to a great start winning three of the first four ends to lead 6-1, but by the end of the ninth end the positions were reversed with Robert’s team in front 13-8. Over the next five end...s the scores were very tight and Robert’s team held a one shot advantage, 15-14. Darren’s team then won the next four ends to jump out to a nine shot lead, 24-15. Robert’s team fought back winning the next two ends to have the score at 24-20 in Darren’s favour. A single shot to Darren’s team on the final end saw that team take the final 25-20. Congratulations to both teams on reaching the final. Also on Saturday afternoon four players had a game of social bowls with Robyn Martin/John Van Eekert defeating Matt Stennett/Neil Martin 21-17. The Melbourne Cup party at the Bowlo yesterday was a great success with those in attendance having a great time. Many thanks to Ian Kennett for organising and running the day.
