19.01.2022 I’m a laugher, loves it. I’m also sentimental. This morning, Quirk Jnr1 said he loved me because I talk about my Dad a lot You make me feel like I know him, I feel lucky. Awww, right? I’m sharing this because it’s about story telling. Family stories are so powerful, especially for little people who’ll never meet a grandparent, beloved friend or relative. For Jnr1, he has a colourful connection with his Grandad and now he also has stories he can share. We may have to edit as we go because Grandad used explosives.

06.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago, I volunteered to chat about local history with my son’s Year 2 class. I took in some 80s toys as ‘back up’. I rolled out my original Garfield, Pound Puppy and Donkey Kong II. Retro was a hit! My favourite questions were:... Did they have phones when you were little? Did people drive cars? I have a ferret Did you have a TV? Telling stories was awesome and so was listening to theirs (even if I felt like I was 90 years old with some of the tech questions!). Yesterday, I received a package with over 20 ‘thank you’ letters. The words and drawings were awesome. If you get a chance to chit chat at a school thing like this, do it. It’s fun

01.01.2022 I realised I’m a slightly anxious kayaky outdoor-er-er. It started when I accidentally hit a stingray Melvin on the head with my paddle. Melvin thrashed about and I freaked out. I almost tipped my kayak onto an oyster covered boulder. Anyway, here's a dodgy vis-u-al representation of my kayaky outdoor-er-er anxiety. Happy weekend!
