12.01.2022 Many footpaths in Melbournes small streets are less than 2m wide. To allow pedestrians to maintain safe physical distancing whilst helping local businesses operate under covid safe practises, @cityofmelbourne has reduced the speed limit in some of Melbournes small streets to 20km/h and created shared zones. People walking along these streets now have right of way over vehicles and bikes. This is one of the measures being introduced as people gradually return to the city in the coming weeks.
