21.01.2022 Goodbye Henry. Released out into the big blue by our volunteer Fleur. Young turtles prefer deeper oceans to avoid running into predators, so we gave Henry the o...ption by dropping him out in the deep past the northern entrance. Not much is known about Flatback turtles especially juveniles so Henry has been tagged and if he shows up somewhere else in years to come his exploits, travel and growth information will help us understand more about this awesome species. 19.01.2022 TURTLE TAXI AND MUSCLE NEEDED. The big girl from yesterday has spent the night Alma Street Veterinary Hospital and our good friends have performed surgery ...and she’s now ready for the next phase in her rehabilitation journey ... which is getting her down to Gladstone. If you or anyone you know have a suitable vehicle (prado or similar suggested) and about 4 people to help lift... she’s ready to be picked up and brought back down for some rehab, care and love from our turtle carers.
