24.01.2022 On Wednesday the 23rd of September we will be going to Kadina Farm Shed Museum to have a look at what they have done and hopefully we can replicate on a smaller scale, if you have farming and agricultural machinery & memorabilia to donate to our cause, please donate, it is such a worthy reminder of how the Pioneers of Quorn & districts survived some of the most unbelievable droughts and personnel hardships, especially the women & children.

13.01.2022 Today has been very challenging, shifting quite a few exhibits that pose dangers to the public, yep I 've got another scar to attest to that. A HUGE thankyou to QRT for loan of their fork lift, Support Locals, Locals SUPPORT. We have now made space for one of the 4 wheel wagons undercover, this can be restored at a later date. Alan Uhlik, a 'New Quornie' has been quietly working on restoring a tip wagon, going to be a big job. Stick to it mate. Attached wagon photo had many C...lysedales or similar working horses pulling it, today we have a 50/60s Fergie 28hp doing that job, made light work of it, would like to see same loaded to the hilt with wheat or wool. If you have any information regarding exhibits, or are prepared to join a dedicated group of people preserving Quorn & District history contact Dave Reubenicht on 0401 533 752 or inbox me. Dave, Fergie proved itself to be the savior of the smaller farmer/landholder See more

13.01.2022 Even with the high temperatures there's been plenty of activity down at The Pioneer Park [Lions park] Martin and Alan have been busy dismantling the tip cart and rehousing the steel framing etc; meanwhile it was time to remove the old Chevvy truck as it was taking up valuable workshop space, sadly the truck is in poor condition and would take years to restore. To get the truck out we had to firstly remove the Cat, Julian grabbed the Cat by the tail and dragged it out with a bit of screeching from the Cat [metal tracks on concrete] Behind the scenes there has been a massive amount of work obtaining quotes, meetings and negotiating the future of the Park, watch this space.

12.01.2022 In keeping with the Pioneer spirit, quite a few members battled the heat and got on with fencing the compound. Amazing how hard the ground was after such good rains, pretty happy to have the Kubota dig the holes for the posts.

11.01.2022 Friday the 4th of December members were given the opportunity to observe Charlie & Rhonda's Mid 1950s 6cyl Diesel Massey Harris tractor pulling a 1927 Sunshine Harvester in action. Not only did we observe, we actually rode the machines. A huge thankyou to Charlie & Rhonda for their incredible hospitality.

10.01.2022 Quorn Pioneer Machinery Soc Inc Members And Eric Brown CEO FRC visited Kadina Farm Shed Museum on 23rd September. The main purpose of the visit was to attend a fully operational Farm Machinery Museum to collate ideas & gain pointers on how to start virtually from scratch. Our Group received the red carpet treatment from The Kadina Volunteers, Special thanks to Kelvin Stewart, Kenn Rudd, Geoff Plogreen, Greg Penney & Seretary Gerry, magnificent guys. All of us came away from Kadina chomping at the bit to get things moving in Quorn, we have a big task ahead of us & anyone wishing to help are more than welcome to attend on site every Wednesday from 9.30 onwards or contact David on 0401 533 752 We recommend to anyone who visits Kadina to put The Farm Shed Museum in their itinerary, its got something for everyone

09.01.2022 Friday the 2nd October saw several members start to move some of the exhibits that are in very poor condition into a proposed fenced of area to help alleviate the risk of injury to members of the public. The task took a full day and highlighted the need for some heavier lifting equipment as some of the items are extremely fragile. Work to fence off the holding area should commence next week, weather permitting.

08.01.2022 Welcome to the Quorn Pioneer Machinery Society. We are a new group of enthusiastic locals of Quorn who have taken on the challenge to rejuvenate what is/was the Quorn Lions Park, returning it to a visitor destination in Quorn. Over the coming months we hope to provide updates on our project and welcome any new volunteers that might like to join us! During the past 4 Wednesday mornings we have met at the grounds and had a working bee where we have achieved alot already! For more information on volunteering or if you have any information on any of the machinery we would love your input! Please contact David Reubenicht 0401533752 or message the page :)

05.01.2022 This is a great Christmas present to Members and the Quorn Town. We have just received the great news that we have obtained a major grant via Flinders Ranges Council, from the Nuclear Waste Facility Site. Quorn Lions Park Agricultural Museum... Major restoration of the Quorn Lions Park Agricultural Museum, to preserve its nationally significant and extensive collection of agricultural machinery and increase the appeal of and visitation to the park. Project elements include formalised vehicle access and entry with signage; new shelter with paving and picnic setting; landscaping with native plantings; sealed circuit pathway through the park; machinery collection positioned on display pods with signage and historical information and a pedestrian connection to provide safe access to the park and access to the Heysen Trail and the Bush Tucker Trail (under construction). Prior to going into Christmas holidays recess, members held a Christmas Party at the park, which also became a surprise birthday party for Richard.
