25.01.2022 This week our QCF258 students tested how strong their bridges were. We tested the strength of the bridges first by using toy cars and then by adding 2.5 kilos weight. One of them held up to 22.5 kilos! Thanks to Ruth and all our QCF258 students that allowed us to be part of this fun practical unit.

21.01.2022 We had a great time being part of the concrete mix design practical class with the Diploma of Engineering students. The Civil Engineering Materials unit contains practical classes in laboratory space where students get to create and test concrete for different projects. What a fun way and hands on way to learn about the fundamentals of being a civil engineering!

17.01.2022 Our third QUTIC giveaway is here! Thanks to all our students who have shared their stories and provided comments. Remember that aside from staying safe at home, we should all try to stay mentally and physically healthy as well. This can be tough when all the gyms are closed. So, our giveaway this week is supporting and encouraging a healthy lifestyle, especially during this time of anxiety and stress. We are giving away five fitness packages which include a yoga mat, skippi...ng rope, stretch band, Pilates ball and lots more! To be eligible all you need to do is comment below and post an image or video of your favourite thing to stay mentally/physically active? It could be yoga, walking, meditation, running, lifting weights or Beat Saber. During his time at QUT College, Jason participated as a Mentor to guide and support new students whilst excelling at his studies. He believes the Mentor program was a great initiative from the College as it helped students to feel part of a community. 15.01.2022 Great work to all QUTIC students for starting your online study journey! We had over 1000 students studying online this week. This is a record for us, and you should be proud of yourself and your College. We are working hard to ensure your education is not disrupted during this difficult period and we are very thankful for your patience. As a THANK YOU for being awesome students, we are GIVING AWAY care packages to the first 10 QUTIC students that COMMENT on this post by ...telling us what you learnt during your online study this week and post a photo of your home study space . We get that COVID-19 is adding to everyones stress and anxiety. However, there are practical steps you can take like focusing on your long-term goals while maintaining a sense of well-being that can make it easier. Over the coming weeks well be sharing advice about how best to study online, how to look after yourself during isolation, and things you can do when you cant leave the house. Well also be giving away more care packages. Here is a tip to get started: Limit your exposure to news. Its good to stay updated but you dont need to be reminded about Coronavirus 24/7. 09.01.2022 P Block update and sneak peek: As many of you know, the QUTIC building (P Block) is currently under renovation. QUTIC has invested a significant amount to upgrade our building and technology. This will provide a premium learning environment and an enjoyable and rewarding experience for our students. One positive outcome of teaching online has been that we have been able to expedite the renovations and these will be completed sooner than anticipated. ... Here are some of the new classrooms that are expected to be ready for use by the end of 2020!

We know staying home can be lonely and at times you might feel isolated, bored or perhaps worried about your friends and family back in your home country. Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing some tips with you on how to look after your physical and mental health while staying home and studying online.... We will cover topics such as setting a routine, staying active, keeping connected, coping with stress, sleeping well and many more. 04.01.2022 Great news - QUT International Student COVID-19 Hardship Fund! QUT is committed to supporting our International Students. These grants will be assessed based on need and amounts up to $1,500 will be awarded to students according to individual circumstances.... The grants are intended for students who find themselves in unexpected or unforeseen financial hardship, specifically as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The fund does not have the capacity to support a recipient with ongoing costs, and students should note that funds, where provided, are done so on a one-off basis and there are limits in terms of how much funding is available or can be provided to each applicant. Once we review your application, an International Student Services team member will contact you.
