20.01.2022 Hello Everyone. Qantas Welfare & Social Club Brisbane Inc (Qantas 100 Year Ball) Due to current Covid Pandemic restrictions the Committee unfortunately have had to make the tough call to Postpone this event till next year.... The Proposed new date will be 13th November 2021. It will be called the ‘100 Year + 1 Ball. Circumstances are drastically different for so many staff across Qantas work groups who have purchased tickets. The club is therefore offering ticket holders 2 options. Option 1: A full refund of your ticket / tickets if you wish to cancel out. Option 2: Keep your Booking. We will then hold the booking and payment for the event scheduled for next year. Either way you will be required to fill in and return the attached Postponement Form to advise the club of your intentions. Please note: If we have not received a refund request by 30th November 2020 we will assume that you are happy to hold your booking over to next year. Please refer to attached Club letter officially advising of the postponement. Please help us get this message out so those who have paid for tickets can make a decision and advise their wishes. Brisbane City Town Hall... 14th November 2020 Live Band. The Millennium Band. (Check out their face book page ) funky disco 70’s,80’s 90’s and 2000’s . 3 course dinner & 5 hour premium drink package. Tables of 10 available or single tickets Tickets are selling like hot cakes, so please be quick to ensure you don’t miss out . The previous venue Moda Portside just before Christmas went into liquidation and the club lost $2000.00 deposit. When making a booking we will require full payment at time of booking for tickets as we are only a small social club . This was a big hit to the club . 03.01.2022 Hello Everyone. Qantas Welfare & Social Club Brisbane Inc. Annual Xmas Function. SECOND NOTICE, PLEASE HELP GET THE WORD OUT... As you will be aware we traditionally run a Children’s Xmas Day Function. The good news is that despite Covid-19 we will again run this function however it will need to be different this year. The club has issued a letter (Attached) to its members outlining the changes we need to make this year. All rides this year unfortunately have been cancelled. We are looking at bringing in some subsidised food vans and believe this will be a great opportunity to catch up with fellow staff members whom you may not have seen for a while and celebrate Xmas. Note: This idea is still at planning stage. Non Members will also be invited however Xmas Presents and subsidised Food Vouchers will not be available. Non Members can still purchase Food from the Vans. The Event will be held on Saturday 5th December 2020 VENUE: Qantas Hangar 3 Carpark, 550 Main Myrtletown Road Pinkenba Time: 11.30pm to 4.00pm Xmas Gifts & Lolly bags will go ahead as usual. Attached is the required nomination form. This email has been sent out while still finalising our event so you have ample time to return present nomination forms. Please Note: The closing date for nominations is Friday 6th November. Nominations will not be accepted after this date. Please submit your forms as early as possible. Please fill in all the required information and write legibly. Your OCS Address is on your pay slip if you are not sure what it is. Gift Tags will be sent via OCS mail after the close date (After 1st November). Either the week of 16th or the 23rd of November. If you submit a form you will be contacted (Please provide contact details, email or phone number) to advise we have received your nomination form. If you do not get conformation within 2 weeks of sending your form please contact me on the number nominated on the form. If you do not receive a confirmation, I have not received your form. Can I please ask everyone to help get the word out for this event? We do not know who of our members are working / stood down / made redundant. Finally Due to Queensland Government restrictions with amount of people allowed at events we may have to cancel this entirely. If the event is cancelled we will hold the Presents and Lolly Bags for a short time and advise how these can be collected. Thanks Hope to see you there.
