25.01.2022 Mr Rex had his vaccinations today and brought one of his best friend Miss Gypsy along for support! Rex was such a good boy, and of course no one is allowed to go to the vet without Gypsy coming too so obviously she had to come to support him too I think Gypsy was looking for Erica not that we have favourites at the vet! ... Thank you Kylie and Tiffany Murray from North Maclean Family Vet for seeing Mr Rex and his bestie you guys are awesome

23.01.2022 WE RESCUE & REHOME *****UPDATE NUMBER ONE***** This ain’t no way to treat a Lady - adopt your own and have happy hens and fresh eggs! We have lots more Ladie...s just arrived and they are all looking for new homes. We have a lot - like a lot of Ladies that still need homes and I need a very big list of "Committed" people to help me now. I'm working on no Lady is being left behind theory and if I can keep getting Ladies in their new homes this will happen. THIS BUYS ME SPACE AND TIME If you are looking for layers look no further than the rescue Ladies. There is a massive shortage of layers and POL with some stockfeeds having a wait list for more than 6mths. If you or anyone you know is looking for layers I'd seriously suggest contacting me for some Ladies ASAP. When they are gone, they are gone and I need them in homes fast to make room for the others. All correspondence needs to be to Cat directly by either phone or text 0411799040 for information. We are located Gold Coast Hinterland but can "uber" by arrangement. *****RESCUE HENS-SOME THINGS I"M ASKED AND FAQS********** WHAT BREED AND COLOUR ARE THEY? They are all brown in colour and they are what is known as "Commercial Browns" IE: ISA, Sex Link, Hyline, Lohman, Bonds etc - they are all based on the same cross however names, are TRADE NAMES HOW OLD ARE THEY? They are approximately 13 mths on first moult, so this means they have layed one cycle from Point Of Lay (POL) and are about to come on their "second lay"- this is definitely something you need to ask your "Rescuer" or "Rehomer" as most are a LOT older than my Ladies DO THEY/ARE THEY LAYING? Some are, most aren't as previously discussed hens don't lay whilst they are moulting and that is why egg farms turn them over. However they will reward you with lots of eggs for many many years to come as soon as they adjust to a happy life and this can be a turn around of 2-6 weeks approx depending on time of year (Hens don't lay much in Winter - Day/Light hours are too short) DO THEY HAVE FEATHERS OR WHY DO THEY LOOK SO BAD? Some have more than others and some of the more "Naked" or "PJ Ladies" as we like to call them continue to lay as they haven't put in any effort into feather growth verse egg production #GoldCoastChooks #SavingBatteryHens

20.01.2022 We might not be a large rescue, with all the bells and whistles but we treat every rescue the same when they arrive here they receive so much love affection and care to help make them feel like they are apart of the family and I feel that it really shows in their personalities. This is our reality we love what we do and although it is hard and challenging at times we would not have it any other way

18.01.2022 So Rusty is our little star this week! He has been such a Character he absolutely LOVES playing with the kids and always gets up to mischief! Today Rusty was helping me feed the pigs and horses while playing and standing up for me. Then later on he was playing with the dogs and then with the bull head butting each other ( lucky franklin is a gentle giant!) then rusty decided that the children needed to play with him so while the kids and I were cleaning up all the animal feed in the shed Rusty was waiting in the kids cubby house for them and running across the bridge! He is such a cutie this is why we do what we do. When we rescued Rusty he would not come near any people or kids he would run away from you and hide but with lots of love and affection little Rusty has grown into a beautiful friendly human and animal loving goat!

16.01.2022 So this is the reality of our life here! (You cant leave windows down in the car when its parked or you will end up with a chook in your car and she LOVES laying eggs in everyones car!!, you can not leave any doors/gates open unattended or you will have a goat/lamb in your house, car, feed shed etc We love these guys to the moon and back and I think they feel the same

15.01.2022 So Rusty LOVES playing with the kids and being very cheeky! Here is a little video from yesterday Rusty LOVES ANYTHING HE CAN JUMP ON So of course the trailer is definitely his play platform ... In saying that the Riley and Charlie LOVE playing with Rusty also! No animals or children were harmed or antagonised in this video (they all play regularly with Rusty initiating the play)

15.01.2022 Tomorrow we say goodbye to Mr Fred, Mr Chester, Mr Charlz and Miss Holly. They are going to their forever home to the most amazing people who will give them so much love and affection Such a bitter sweet moment but it will be the best for them to finally get their loving forever home

12.01.2022 When booking with us please let us know ASAP if you will be having your event at a park as council will require a COVID SAFE PLAN this plan is created by us then submitted via email then we have to await approval, we need as much time as possible as it is very possible that they will send it back wanting things changed then it will have to be re approved. We want all of you to have fabulous events but we do require a bit more notification then usual. 11.01.2022 We are looking for a forever home for 2x 8-10year old cats. Both are Desexed and we will be getting them vet checked, microchips and vaccinations done prior to collection which is what the adoption fee will be covering. $165 each if you would prefer to pay the vet directly I am sure we can organise that also please pm me for more details. These cats need homes ASAP as the current owners child is allergic to them. Thank you for your support hopefully we can find them a home ASAP

06.01.2022 Hey guys just a quick update- Holly, prince Charlz, Fred and Chester have been dropped off at their Forever home they are going to have such an amazing life they are so super lucky and they have the most AMAZING views now these pics are of them at their new forever home Im so proud of holly and how far she has come even though she has a lot more muscle building to do but she has definitely come a long way ... We are feeling a little sad and missing them but they are going to be spoilt rotten and we now have the room to help more animals which is exactly what we do!
