11.01.2022 Nightmare installation for the customer and for myself that I completed today. Customer had just moved into their newly built 2 story home and because no prior thought or planning had been done by the customer or the builder, the customer was unable to have their pay tv outlet where they wanted it. They wanted installed behind their entertainment unit on the internal wall, which normally is no issue, but because it’s a 2 story house there is no access to the internal wall cav...ity from above as there is a living room directly above this internal wall. I had to install the outlet on the external wall which now makes the outlet and flyleads visible, where as on the internal wall it would be hidden behind the entertainment unit. I also had to install conduit on the outside of the external wall as the ground floor walls are brick but the upper story walls are rendered polystyrene and there is no cavity to run cables from the ground floor to the ceiling space. I installed it as neatly as possible but all of this work and frustration could have been avoided just by the customer having a conversation with their builder/electrician and the cabling could have been installed in the desired location during construction, so if you are building a new house now or in the future, have the conversation with your builder/electrician about what cabling they supply within the building contract and what your cabling requirements are, or give me a call and I can help you with figuring out what cabling you might need done. A few cables ran during construction can save a lot of headaches for everyone. 01.01.2022 Customer was having issues with TV signal. The antenna was rusted at the cable input and the cable was also rusted out due to water ingress. I installed a new antenna and replaced the cabling, signal is now perfect
