22.01.2022 Hi guys it's been a while since I've posted, there's been lots of study and more to learn and add to my skill set. One thing I've been seeing a pattern of in Cairns lately is headaches that radiate from the base of the skull at the back of the head and forward into the eyes these are known as sub occiputal neuralgia and are brought on by things like poor posture, more accurately weak muscle in the back of the neck followed by compensation of the muscles at the front to keep t...he cranium level. This wedges the cervical and cranial nerves between the atlas and the occipital bone causing pain to radiate out over the head or down the neck into the shoulders. These headaches can be (and are really painful I speak from personal experience) and usually continue for hours. Things that can relieve them are painkillers, nsaids, hot compress on the back of the neck, stretching the posterior neck muscles out, but these merely mask the issue which is the neural compression. Release of these muscles are essential for minimalising pain and un-restricting blood flow to the head which will vastly contribute to faster recovery See more
